I started to prune some of the lower buds on my plants that are not recieving much light at all. I am about 25 days into flower. I was just curious if it is smart to do this, or does it cause the plant a lot of stress.

It causes no stress, all that happens is the colas that are in the light get all the energy instead of some being wasted.
