I'm thinking about converting an 8 pot wilma to a 4 pot system.
I did see a very usefull post on here a while back but I think it must have been removed.
They did the conversion and it created more height and space for the plants.
I'm not sure on the size of trays/boxes to get.
I've looked at some 24 ltr storage boxes that are w 32.5cm h 25cm l 42.5cm.I would use a drill for the bottom and sides.
I would use clay pebbles and coco in the middle, depending on the feedback given. I'd use an airstone,as I can imagine the roots will hang in to the res, and use some plastic or mylar for the base to cover the roots from the light. I'd like to go with the wilma as this is the only hydro set up I've used. I will probably make some scrog net to control the height. Also 1x600w hps with cooltube,4 inch ruck and filter to fit. This is the idea anyhow.
Are there plastic's that are not roots friendly? doh.gif
Has anyone tried this? If so how did you get on?
Is there a better system to go with?
Are the sizes ok for the 8 potter?
Will I get more yield using the boxes rather than the 11 ltr pots?
Can anyone forsee any problems, even basic as I am a noob?
I'll upload pics when I decide what I'm using.
Any feedback will be appreciated. ty huh.gif
