Maye be a dumb question to some, but here goes. Ive had my 360 for a few months now, never thought about anything but gaming with it. My dvd setup has packed up, its still under gaurantee but Ill have to wait for a replacement. Can I just pop a dvd into my xbox and play it without any extra gubbins? Im not bothered about using a remote or anything. Plus, are they really sensitive to, erm, "backup copies" of pornos etc?

Hi willowisp,

Yes, you can just pop in a DVD and WALLAH! Though I find my xbox always plays DVD's a bit quiet so I have to blast the volume on my TV.

Not sure about 'back ups' , it plays all of the ones I have, but I don't think it will play everything. Just a case of trying it I suppose.

OK, Il ltry it tonight. My old ps2 wouldnt entertain playing any dvd with a slight whiff of "ahaarr me hearties" about it!

Good thing about the xbox is it seems to really play dvd's well, at least on my tv- they look so much better than a normal dvd player. i think that the xbox upscales the dvd to 720p or something. obviously not as good quality as full hd but decent enough for anyone who's not a complete nerd
