Hi

I have some skunk #1 on the go, 5 weeks into flower. Im wondering weather i should be expecting the long haul.

Anyone grown seedsman #1 before? how long did yours go? it sais 9 weeks on the packet so could I expect to do 10 - 11?

Cheers
spankydemonkey
yeh as you said supposed to be a 9 weeker, but you still got around 4 weeks to go, so they can still do a lot by then.
thats assuming they are not doing a lot. lol.gif

I'm growing 10 femmed skunk#1 from seedsman.

They're growing at slightly different rates, but at six weeks into 12/12 I would say the first chop will be at 8.5 weeks, the last a week or 10 days later.

looking good my griend.

I was in gawping in wonder at my lovely carpet of buds when I noticed quite a few of the pistils were turning brown. now Im no expert and only on my second grow, but isnt it a bit early for say, 30 - 40% of the pistils to be going brown. I did veg for a very long time, I germinated on the 15th may! fuck me thats.......nearly 11 weeks veg...that cant be right...no it is, I went 12/12 on the 30th july, 6 weeks on thursday. Does vegging for longer speed up the flowering process? i only ask cos thats what logic seemed to be saying earlier

I'll take a pic or two tomorrow

I cant believe I vegged for nearly 11 weeks! surely thats not normal?

Man, how stoned were you to forget your plants for like 3 months! biggrin.gif

This is my first grow from seed (albeit with advice from a good mate who's been at this malarkey for over a decade) so no expert myself, but after 5.5 weeks of veg two of the plants were showing staggered internodes. These are the ones doing the best now. I reckon 7 weeks of veg would have been about right, but I'm working to a timetable.

I don't see how longer a veg time can effect the length of the flowering phase - the plant's photosensitive hormones only start the flowering cycle once you go to 12/12. The length of flowering is more influenced by environment than just time. Long vegging times just mean bigger plants, more flowers...yours must be fecking gynormous! Many folks flower mother plants that have been vegging for months and months, you could check for threads on that?

Looking forward to the pic. Good luck matey.

here is my carpet of wonder. Ok it may not be that special but it's only my second grow so im happy.

mmmmmmm bud

Soo it's 6 weeks today. They obveously have a bit of fattening up to do, Id guess 3 weeks worth then, but there are quite a lot of brown pistils.

As I said it's only my second grow and my first was white widdow, When I chopped that at 10 weeks the buds werent much bigger than these and the pistils not much browner, but thats the widdow for you I guess. Im looking forwerd to seeing them in 3 weeks...roll on chop chop!

Very Noyce!

You've got a right little forestry block going on there.

I haven't got a single brown pistil yet - have you got your bloom nutes max'd out?

cheers. No, Im using hesi nutes at about 1/2 to 2/3 what they recomend

my temps were on the high side (28 is max) for a day or two and ive recently switched to a dual spec bulb...

so does mine look quite done to you?

Not really, I'd say you were right in thinking a couple or three weeks to go. I'm using biobizz grow/bloom and oldtimer's schedule and I've been at the max ratio of 3:1 (bloom:grow) and max concentrations for about 4 weeks.

You might be right about the temps, but it could be that there just isn't the concentration of P and K to keep the flowers going.

Oh ok, so up my nutes then I guess. i m using bloom and phosphourus plus at the mo...I'll up them a bit and see how we go. So you still feeding grow aswell? I stopped a few weeks back after reading that it may not actually bennifit with some plants.
johnnyneuro
I'm doing OT1's schedule, which is a low concentration of "grow" right through 12/12. In fact, you up the amount of grow right at the end to reduce the concentration of P in the buds that - so they say - helps them burn cleanly when smoking.

The plants are still photosynthesising like mad in flower. So keeping the Nitrogen going (at low concentration) makes sense.

They're looking really sweet springchicken yes.gif

No need to up the nutes I don't think nea.gif It's just a waiting game now, but this's the good bit while they fatten up. I grew FD's Pure a couple of times, which's meant to be the same as Seedsman's. I think they were about 9-10 weeks. Yours look like they'll be there in a coupla weeks spliff.gif

What more do you want buddy? They look fantastic notworthy.gif

I did the Pures too, like Arbs says they are supposed to be the same as Seedsmans and the 4 from my first pack all finished about 10wk (but i do like em quite cloudy). Hopefully not long to go guitar.gif

Nice work Springchicken thumbsup.gif

cheers for the info buddy, I'll look into OT1's schedule, good luck with yours mate
