Why do people say feminised seeds are rubbish?
Are these the best to start with as it would be easy to choose your mother wouldn't it?
spliff.gif
I went to costa brava a while back and bought some seeds while there, the seeds are:- Original Haze/Skunk, Origin:-California, Type:-F1 Hybrid, Smell and taste is sweet and sour, Genetic makeup:-12.5% indica and 87.5% sativa, Flowering time:-8 to 12 weeks, Yeild 200-500 grams, comments:- A plant with good characteristics such as a high yield. Individual plants can show an extreme THC content.
Any coments on these seeds?
Second lot so please give me your view on them...:- South India/Skunk, origin:- India and California, Type:-Stabilised hybrid, Genetic makeup:-12.5%indica/87.5%sativa, Flowering:-9 to 12 weeks, Taste:-sweet smell and taste, 200 to 500 grams.
I was going to buy some feminised and use them instead of these what do you think? Or is it better just to choose standard as above and pick the females out when put into flowering? All help would be nice on this matter so all comments wellcome..... Should I use the ones above?

-stick with what you've got mate - feminised seeds cost a bloody fortune, and often have a nasty tendency to go hermie - two sexes are a handful, three is a nightmare! smoke.gif

you wont know until you've grown em kev...... wink.gif, like farmweb,i'd stay away from fem seeds, and stick with waht you've got(for know)
nature has no guarantee's,and those fem seeds do knock out the odd hermie..
the best way to find out if they are any good is to get them planted,
they might not resemble what the packet say's,
if nothing else it's a good starter point, and if your having to buy off a dealer, anything you grow will probably shite all other anything your used to....

good luck

Have they got labels aing their origin, I seem to remember that Seedsman has those two strains. I must admit I liked the sound of the Indian Skunk, but it does have a long flowering time (they both do as they have mostly sativa gens).

I'd say stick with them and wait a few weeks more than with an indica strain and you won't reghret it!

Thanks for that mate but i now have a selection of seeds which are bubblegum, blueberry, northern lights and white widow. There only standard but got a buyer which buys in bulk then sells them on. This guy has got good reviews about his strains which he gets every 12 weeks then sells on E-bay.
spliff.gif Not bad prices either.
I've been told that blueberry is quite nice but any comments from anyone would be helpfull. Also i now possess "Jack herner" also.
Should be a good selection in my eyes if i get a few good females of them..
Anyway people happy talking.

Thats quite a selection ya got there friend. How many plants can you grow at once, (spacewise)!

If I had that selection of seeds I would be inclined to germ 2-3 of each and bring them on to sexing. Then, if you have some vigorous females you can choose whether to take them through to full term, (not forgetting cuttings prior to flowering), or use them as mums and take more cuttings, thus guaranteeing "every ones a winner" in your next crop, (100% females, and as many as you wish to grow).

If space is limited then my preference would be for Northern Lights and White widow for the first grow.

I would stay away from "femmed" seeds. The only way to guarantee females is as above, and that is still no guarantee of no hermies, but you are taking the male chromosome out of an already complicated equation!

Either way, good luck with your choices.

Peace.
