Hello,

I'm about to start a new grow, and I was planning on trying either the biobizz all-mix or the plagron all-mix. After reading reviews on this site, some people have given bad reports of biobizz all-mix. The place I get supplies from only stocks Plagron Royalty mix though (no batmix or all mix or anything). I haven't heard so much about this one, can anyone report back with how they found it?

Never heard of anyone using that mix but from what most people say they're no real difference between the end results with expensive specialist canna composts and decent garden centre ones and that they aren't worth the money.

I used it for a couple of months and kept my mums in it for a while, it works but its expensive at £13 for 50lt,

I buy JAB Multi purpose with added john innes from that big diy store in the clouds for £3 a bag, it does exactly the same, and even looks like it.

Pointless wasting your money on Playgron

Or Biobizz for that matter IMO .... Perfectly good and reasonably priced nutrients but waaaaay overpriced compost.

Like GG I use a multipurpose with added John Innes, sometimes Westlands sometimes JAB, both work as well as any of the expensive composts in my limited experience.

Bah!

I wait a whole day for someone to respond.... 10 minutes after I buy it, 3 of you reply biggrin.gif Oh well, too late now, and I needed some other stuff anyway so no biggie. I kinda just wanted to see if it was all hype, or if there was something to it. I guess I'll be able to test it now.

I used Westlands multipurpose with added JI , on my last grow, that's just about to finish, it was OK and most of my errors were undoubtably due to it being my first grow, but someone recommended trying another soil next time, on my grow diary. I saw a westlands organic in Homebase today when I went to buy a new watering can (dog ate my last one sad.gif ) which looks pretty decent, but it was pissing down with rain so I didn't look long, but I'll give that one a try next time I think.

rofl.gif You wait a whole day for the 420 and then three come along at once. Unlucky with the timing, hope it works well for you biggrin.gif

Had a Killerskunk veggin in plagron batmix for bout 4 weeks at 3.5L only just started showing slight signs of def now, trying it out on my next batch of seedlings cut back with a bit of extra perlite and using it for the next batch that goes into the flowering tent.

The royalty mix is their topend organic no feed needed for bout 6 weeks stuff

"It consists of White peat, Baltic peat, Irish peat, sphagnum peat moss and Black peat comprising 60% of the total volume. The remainder consists of 20% worm compost, 15% perlite and 5% bio super mix which is a concentrated selection of biological fertilisers containing minerals, bacteria, vitamins, blood-meal, bone-dust, basalt-dust, bentonite, seaweed meal, guano and lava-dust."

If ya belive the marketing spiel

I'm using the batmix atm, seems really good so far. The royal mix I haven't used but I saw that Magoo used a fair bit of it on his guerilla mission. Resulted in this - which looks good to me! !

I'm using the Royalty mix on 2xAK48 and 2XNorthern light (all fem seeds) in a scrog.
Only my 2nd grow but the plants seem much bigger and healtier than with the cheap diy centre compost I used previously.

Although you aren't supposed to feed them for 6 weeks with Royalty, I gave them a one ml feed of biobizz grow and 1 ml bloom from 4 wks veg and saw no burn.

Currently at 3 wks flower and upping bloom to 2 mls.

I was told royalty was about the same hotness as allmix, and all they had instock, but it burned my sativas, now they all ramshorn, fucking growshop guys! it is xpensive too, i wanna leave behind these expensive mixes!

@ st34lth:
Sativas (pure) sometimes have very different feed requirements from Indicas or Hybrids. Some require very lo-nutrient compost and no added feeds. They come from parts of the world where the soil is poor and fertiliser non-existent. Then suddenly we plonk them into rich compost and feed them uber-meals every five minutes - shock.gif Any wonder they go all wierd?
Hybrids and most of the Indica seeds coming via Europe and the USA are bred for indoors, for rich mediums or hydro, and plenty feeds.

my mate picked up royalty mix by mistake, did the six week no feed, things were going well, then 2 weeks before the end,he had nute lockout?he puts it down to the soil, never had problems with the light mix?
Herbal Kint
Never tried it but heard very good things about royalty mix.

Speeking off price i pay 35 euros for 100L off composana for tomatos ,that is only decent compost i found here that keeps my plants green with no nutes in veg. Before that i usses Substral and few other less nowing brands, they were no good.
