Hi

Looking to build my own bubble pot system using nine 21 litre buckets/net pots. Each with a 4/5" ring airstone fed from suitable air pump ?

I am planning on having another 21l bucket which connects to the others vis 12mm black tubing, this will be used as a main resevoir. All feed/water will be done in it with an on/off tap inline to fill the 9 buckets.

Is there anything else i need to do or can it be improved anyway ?

Planning on using Ionic nutes (grow, bloom, boost)

Cheers

What happened to the Autopots you were getting.... whistling.gif unsure.gif

Dont take this the wrong way....But To be honest you seem to have very little basic knowledge of growing so my tip to you would be to forget various systems available for the minute and do plenty of reading to understand what your trying to acheive and then go from there...Once you have a better understanding you have a better chance of success... guitar.gif wink1.gif

yeah, i agree with Oen (or is that Neo?!? unsure.gif )

dont know where you are growing about but if your not too sure go with NFT coz in my opinion its hard to go wrong - well, ish!!!

I am learning, that's why i am not going to use an Autopot system, want to build my own RDWC system, seems to give better yields and no valves to mess with.

Just not seen one with nine pots, they are mostly in rows of 2 and wondered if i would get some pots having more flow/nutes than others.

But i could easily control this with valves i presume if the difference was substantial.

By the time i start the grow i should be an veteran expert......lol.gif

personally i use pourous hose instead of airstones

suppose you could do 3 rows of 3 if ya got the space in ya grow room

I'm using an adapted 7 bucket system. It was originally 6 buckets and a 70 litre res but there wasnt enough room for it, so I used another bucket as a res. Since a few plants turned out to be male I removed them, put the pump in one bucket with a pipe feeding the control bucket (with taps). One tap is kept shut so the nutrient solution is constantly circulating in one direction. The system has dripper pipes leading to each bucket but they blocked up pretty quickly so this seems to be a good alternative.
Pretty simple to use but you could no doubt fit more pots in the available space with a wilma setup but i'm happy.... For now smile.gif

What concerns me is the amount of flow the pump produces in relation to the gravity fed return, if it's to much then they will overfill ?

I take the the res/buckets are all the same level.

None of my buckets are raised off the ground. Once the roots grow you use less water so theres an air gap between the netpot and the solution. Just dont overfill. The control bucket always has a higher level of solution than the rest and the bucket with the pump is always lower than the rest but once filled with just enough water it never overflows. Theres an airstone in every bucket and two in the control bucket.. The plants seem to like it anyway.

hey easy you could have a return line from each bucket going back to the res instead of them all connecting
if thats wot u worried about

or reduce the flow on the pump

I was thinking of having one control bucket/res and then x3 19mm pipes out of this commecting to x3 rows of 3 buckets.
These would be connected in daisy chain ie from one bucket to another instead of central tubes with T branches (like tommy ketchup RDWC)

Anyone see any problem with this ? The feed would be 2 lines inbetween the 3 rows.

What do you think peeps.

If your looking for a good Recirculating Bubbler guide or diagram then here we go..

Hope this helps..

I actually have a 9 site bubbler system but dont like the thought of how alot can go wrong quick. Personally I am trying simpler hydro methods before doing a bubbler grow. Would you believe I am using autopots biggrin.gif

or u cd jus put an aerator in the bottom of each bucket an fill with water then wen it gets near empty take the lid off an put ontop of a 2nd bucket bottom with water.u mite need to buy 3 or 4 or 5 aerators bt fk it ull get that bk cum harvest time.
