hi there guys,

so i had my kid for the weekend there and on saturday he had a couple of his pals staying over - my buddy's boys.
anyway the kids were away in the bedroom playing 360 and me and my buddy was lounging, havin a few spliffs. we had a little wager on who would win a 2 player on modern warfare so we went through to the boys bedroom to have a quick blast.

lo and behold though as we went to change the game the dreaded red ring of death appeared. noticing this i jumped up and switched 360 off at the plug, left for a couple of minutes - cursing the hell out of microsoft - then switched it back on at he plug and hey presto it worked no problem!!

the thing i would like to know though is ; is it doomed once you have had the red ring of death, that is will the inevitable happen in the next few weeks again??

ps
this happened to me before but i had a week or two left on warranty from GAME so i just took it straight back and swapped for a new one - however the warranty from GAME is now up

it works completely fine without any problems loading up games/dvds?
in all honesty i've never heard of that happening before, so i couldn't say whether or not it will happen again.

was it the three red flashing lights? if it was this would mean a general hardware problem, when one or more hardware components fail.
if it was just two red lights it was just overheated, if it was four flashing lights it means the AV cable could not be detected.
groovelick

ngoma
Micro$oft do a three year warranty on the RROD so if you've had it for less than that you'll be OK no need to repair it just send it back for a new one unless you've opened the case of course.

i heard that "macrocash" did 3 year warranty and if it happens again then that is an option ngoma but to tell you the truth i am sick of the 360s unreliabillity that i quite believe if i send it back and get a new one from them then its only going to be a matter of time till it red rings again ranting.gif

so i am in a bit of a pickle about what to do if it does happen again soon - send it back or fix it myself and then flash it while i'm there seeing as the warranty would be void then... oh, what a to do!!!!!!

CHEERS!!!
