How many plants could I get in a GT205, its 70cmx40cm..............I could even fit 2 of them inside the tent.


Before Someone says "make your own" I already have 2, 80cmx40cm trays over 1 reservoir in my homemade NFT. Reason being the 1metre square trays wont fit the tent so I had to rig 2 up.

With my homemade I have 46" upwards space.

With 1 or 2 GT205's ill have 66" upwards....



I also must add the reason for me flapping is I went on holiday when the plants were 3 weeks old & 6"....I came home to them being 25"+ 7 days later.

Am I flapping, and 46" will be ok on my next grow? I vegged with a HPS & might have left the light a lil high before the holiday, could that have caused the stretch?

If you're willing to learn, then search for Scrog on here, great height control and you can use minimal amount of plants.

I'll be using a 205 in my next grow and plan to only use 2 plants in an 80x80 space.

that would have probably caused the stretch SAPFO mate, simillar thing happened to me but i just supercropped like mad and they turned out just fine!!

as for how many plants you can get in your set-up, it is not just about size as i think alot has to do with light wattage aswell as environment to get the most out of your babies

Currently im at max height, and tieing as much as I can. Im using a 400HPS, but are waiting for a 600HPS to be delivered, as I guess ill need the penetration due to this stretch.

Ive also got myself a 60cm sq veg tent so I can prep the next lot ready for flower.

What size would you veg to? Would 6 be ok next time as ill not have the stretch? Flowring at 15" ok?

personally i dont do veg at my place but my buddy deals with that side of things, he will normally bring them down at about 12" or there abouts so 15" for flowering sounds okay to me mate

as for amount of plants then yeah, it seems like you have enough space for them and the 600HPS will defo help - just remember and tie, tie, tie bud!!!

So you reckon 50" total headroom should be enough for the next grow?


Im considering soil as ive just spent 2 hours tieing it everywhere cuz the friggin rockwool cubes are all tipping over.

..only problem ive not got a clue about soil.

50" total headroom fine i reckon, i also had a problem when i went to check on the little girls and the 3 on left hand side had tipped and had to do pretty much the same as you - tied them up and got them secure , they went on to become a great smoke by the way. what i actually done after that was buy some clay pebbles to put around the rockwool and give em a bit more support, worth looking into

another thing to look into is the method of supercropping the plants along with tieing them up as this saves loads of height and works wonders to the plants

id be happy there growing like mad and you have to tie them up ...
id only do 2 plants max in that size nft ..grow them out or scrog res is to small realy for any more
was a good scrog using that tank by flip70 go have a search in grow dairys

nft 205 as a recommended 3 plant capcity iirc.

well thats what i do in my 205 anyway.

I do three in my 205 - thats what the manufacturer recommends.

I have mine under a 400W in roughly same space as OP - ain't been disappointed yet
