hello all, just a little post to air my frustration i,ve been down the flood and drain road to hell this grow, system brain and float valve is faulty so 4 or 5 episodes of the house being flooded.
plants sitting in water for god knows how long, and a total lack of bud developement due to these problems,i,m looking at the worst crop ever and am not going to have anything to smoke over xmas
been doing this a while so i,m no newbie and this is the first time i,ve faced little or nxt to nothing to look forward to.

I cannot afford to get another grow going so i,ve got to see this through 4 more weeks, sitting on top of the system every 3 hours.my only hope is to maybe get some clones on the cheap[no idea how to even go about this]
or go down the auto route, times getting away from me and i,m skint lol.gif, anyway i,m gonna ditch hydro as soon as i can and go organic,at least i can,t flood the house this way, well thats my rant just needed to get it off my chest russian.gif

Hey there Sea Of green, I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've suffered recently. You said you had no idea where to get clones from? Have you thought of taking cuttings from the lady your currently growing? I'm assumming they are still doin ok as you said you've got to see it thru and I know they are well into 12/12 now but I've taken cuts from lower branchs just a few weeks from harvest ( my first grow, not really recommended) and had succesfull rooted cuttings which threw me a fantastic party 12 weeks later. Jus my thoughts any how, hopefully your problems will be rectified and good luck in the future. Peace and One love XpOt spliff.gif rofl.gif

That sucks man, sorry to hear it. I've heard way too many IWS nightmares now....even though they've allegedly fixed those faulty valves, I couldn't trust it.

Repot everything into coco, switch to coco nutes and carry on. Coco is easy and produces hydro-like results. Handwater daily, or every other day (repot into 6 or 11l) and throw away the runoff (water to 10% runoff), or save it for the garden.

You WILL have smoke before Xmas.....I promise smile.gif

Yeah - take some cuts from your plants into compost, re-veg them and then mum them up and you will have access to clones a-plenty for whatever system you choose to use next. thumbsup.gif

e2a: And get on the blower to E*oteric/Phukka or whoever sold you the F&D system and demand that they get it sorted. wink1.gif

Agreed most strongly...

I've been keeping mums for about a year now... I have similar NFT nightmares - ATM I've been struggling to get anything to root in the hot weather.

I've used 30 clones in the last 3 weeks trying different approaches to solving the problem (which I have done it seems) -same thing happened this time last year too...

Point is it would have taken a lot of cash & time if I was growing from seed each time (as I had done before)... took me a few months to learn how to create & keep mums, but now they're my main plants - they get more care & attention than the ones I'm flowering really - which makes sense if you think about it - they're of more value in the long-term.

Anyway - my point is to suggest using the frustration you feel to set-up some mums... I find I don't have to post 'emergency help' posts anymore unless my mums get sick...

Famous last words probably... doh.gif

When I had recurring contactor problems I ran a long lead from the groom to the shelf above my computer, dead vacuum cleaners or flymos are handy sources for long lengths of flex.

One end plugged into the flowering lights socket and this end with a power strip plus neon. The neon tells me if the lights are on or off without going to the groom. You could do the same with your pumps, will save a lot of extra trips to the groom.

Any idea what the main problem is?

I was just thinking how I might move onto an nft set up as im a few grows in...maybe I'll just move on to coco instead

sorry to hear of your troubles sog, if you live anywhere near me your welcome to drop by and pick up a few cuttings
