I thought I'd post up a topic as I don't recall seeing anyone using anything other than an airstone and pump for oxygenating water. So I was wondering does anyone here Oxygenate there water via electrolysis?

Obvioulsy our plant roots love oxygen and I was thinking it may be a better option for our compost tea's aswell and foilier spray etc.

I've been doing a little research and it seems to indicate that using electrolysis to oxygenation your water is much more productive that the conventional bubbling method. It basically seems to achive a higher saturation levels of oxygen in the water at a relitivly fast rate.

What do you all think?

from my aquarium experience, disturbance of the waters surface apparently gives better oxygenation than an airstone.
so i use an old fluval 2 filter filled with a few choice lumps of charcoal (from a box of bbq grade stuff)theory being to keep the water fresher, and it appears to be working at least a little wink.gif

It's usually aimed to just break the surface , but not too much or else it sounds like a bleedin waterfall.

airstones obviously do an ok job , might depend on the volume of water you want to aerate though.

cba looking for any proper studies ,but someone might have it to hand.

for the electrolysis theory , unsure.gif is there a top limit to how much oxygen cannabis will tolerate ? you don't want to over do it , if the practise gives high saturation at a fast rate unsure.gif

perhaps set a benchmark with a side by side grow and show us the results diary stylee thumbsup.gif

Heya , oxygen will be generated with a larger surface area , ie an aquarium that is say 4ft wide and 6in deep would generate more oxygen ,more fish , than one say 2ft wide by 2ft deep , show and cut flower growers take advantage of this .
