has anyone tried adding the active manuka honey to feed? would it help in anyway? it has loads of beneficial properties including antibacterial ones so theoretically it could kill off the nasties!

anyone know anything, hit me back

You want to encourage microbes in your soil not kill them..... there aren't any problems with "nasty" microbes in the soil that I am aware of, none active honey may help the plants and the microbes but not active IMHO.... read some of OT1's posts on microbes in soil really interesting stuff

Molasses is un-refined sugary stuff and it does wonders for the microbes

I remember reading a post here saying adding honey was beneficial, similar to how adding molasses / treacle is. Never tried it myself.

Manuka Honey has antibacterial propertys... AFAIK you want the bacteria to build up in the soil.. so I wouldn't suggest that.

Normal honey may work? unsure.gif as its mainly only the sugars in the mollases that feed the Microheard of Bacteria

To be fair though... just nip in Julian Graves in town bro and stock up on that "pound a pot organic blackstap shiznizz"

manuka honey is genuinely amazing stuff.
it sounds like nonsense , but it is incredible on cuts , grazes , for belly problems (ulcers)
etc etc
But thats for people,
however i've used it when 'repairing' slightly too exuberant lsting or sc-ing ,
if a stem snaps or breaks completely(really completely) and you quickly bang som manuka on it and tape it up , it'll heal , ive done it myself .

(this may also work with normal honey too, but we've always got a jar of manuka flying around and my little sister is quite evangelical about it , so i just figured i'll try. And it worked!!)

not sure about adding it to compost though...(and its pretty bleedin pricey too)

Blimey mate, try reading some of the threads about molasses before you spout such nonsense.

As for manuka honey, some have speculated that it is good for cuttings. Not tried it yet though do plan to...
