Hey guys.

I know this isn't exactly the best place to post this, but I'm trying to find a load of info about doing a small CFL grow.

I'm gonna try and get a cupboard off freecycle to convert for it, so don't know the dimensions of the grow area yet and it won't be started until late september earliest as im moving.

Basically, I've found bum gravys diary really helpful. And a few others but I cant seem to find many other micro grows as I seem to get 1000s of results when I search for CFL or micro grow, of which none are actually to do with them?!?! I hate computers....

Basically if anyone knows any good grow diaries showing construction of good boxes, or good little grows could you please share?

I'm particularly interested in either doing a SCROG or a SOG but it seems like most people do micro grows with SCROG and not SOG, any ideas?

SOG appeals more to me because I fancy the idea of growing a couple of plants, sexing them, then revegging the Mum and taking cuttings for SOG. Seeing as I do not have feminised seeds and cannot really afford any and have lots of normal ones available I can't really risk doing a SCROG from seed and it turning out to be male.

Anyway yea, not sure if this post really has a point to it, but if anyone has any info to help me out that would be sweet!

Peace

hey treeofsata, glad you found my diary helpful smoke.gif

kingbud420 has a box the same size as mine as he has followed my diary too, he has gone one better though and made a seperate mother area in the chamber. Click for his diary

So if you want to go SOG in a small space I would definitely take a look as kb has done a top job with the box, and I plan to do the same thing at some point so I can keep mums too. It's cool to get tips from someone who has started growing after seeing my diary smile.gif

Also you have probably seen anon133's Stealth cab, which is a brilliant design and comes with its own construction thread.

If you don't have any mums available yet you might want to make the best use of the space by using it all to scrog a few plants, and then grow from clones later once you have a mother space sorted out. As you say it is not ideal to start scrogging plants only to ditch the males, that's the problem I had because for a scrog (especially a small one) you want to start training the plants as early as possible. If you have started a lot of seeds to ensure getting a couple of girls then it might not be feasible training them all sideways in a small space. I would have loved to start training my plants earlier but had to wait to get rid of males before I could use the space properly.

As you say you could take mums from your first seeds and hope you get genes worth the effort of cloning and keeping.

So all methods have their pro's and cons it really comes down to how you want to play it smile.gif

If you have any questions be glad to help, love seeing micro grows getting started, good luck to you spliff.gif

Thanks for the replies guys.

Bumgravy you're a legend! They should make a seperate grow diaries section for micro grows. The thing is I don't think I'm gonna have enough space in the room to have another box and it has to be stealth ph34r.gif as it's a shared house...

Not sure I could bear doing the whole pulling males on the scrog and not sure I can go for a mother box so think I may have to go for the revegging then taking cuttings option.

Thanks for those links!

No probs there treeofsatta.

Like I said kingbud has a seperate mother area in a box the same size as mine, 70cm wide x 35cm deep x 90cm high, so it will be interesting to see how effective this area is for keeping mums and sogging clones smile.gif

If you are growing from seed then it is probably a good idea to grow them out then decide later if any are worth revegging to keep as mums, that is what I have done but decided it ain't worth the reveg, I have KC brains seeds at the moment and will probably want to get better genetics before I start keeping mums smile.gif If you are starting seeds like UGORG or something then you definitely want to keep your genetics though.

Anythin you need mate just ask, us micro growers have a good bit of knowledge and expertise between us, god know you need it when you are trying to get bud out of tiny spaces biggrin.gif Good luck thumbsup.gif
