Mostly Harmless
Hello folks,

I have a couple of plants growing in my vegetable patch and something has been having a chew on em, a few of the leaves have yellow spots and others have holes in, now these plants are in close proximity to my tomatoes, runner beans, cucumbers, sweetcorn and broccoli and so im thinking that maybe some of the pests that like to munch on my veggies have developed a taste for weed perhaps?

The damage is not severe (yet!) i have been keeping a close eye on things and it doesn't seem to be getting worse but i cant find a culprit, there aren't any visible bugs or eggs on the leaves or stems and the slugs seem to prefer the broccoli (mugs) biggrin.gif i took some (not very good) photo's and am hoping someone can identify the culprit.

Thanks

not too sure what you got there mate but i would invest in some bug spray just to be on the safe side,

we have some similar damage to a few of our plants, we bought some neem spray and taht seems to be doing the trick tongue.gif

Do a google for capsid bugs mate...
Mostly Harmless
Thanks for that,
Google turned up some photo's of plants attacked by capsid bugs that looked very similar to the damage on my plants.
On the positive side it appears these bugs are unlikely to be a major threat and are reaching the end of their active cycle so hopefully the damage wont get any worse and i wont have to treat the plants.

In general they look pretty healthy i was mainly worried that this was a sign of something threatening to my plants that might get more serious although looking at my tomatoes, runner beans and broccoli they all have much worse damage but i never bat an eyelid about them... i guess im overprotective of my girls wink1.gif
