Wilma auto system
Easy2grow system

Light wise i have been looking into many of these also, not wanting anything too powerfull as its only for 2/3 plants max in a smallish cupboard

High output CFL system

Most folks are in bed now. Except for us yanks. wink.gif Sometimes Hughie is awake. He's a Scot as well. And a damn fine one.

Can't advise you on hydro as I'm a mud boy. I think auto pots are better suited for those that have more than 4 or so going. Just a guess though.

I can say though, if your space can deal with the heat, get an HID over cfl any day. And do be sure to have your air extraction (including air scrubber) sorted before you start growing.

Good Luck! thumbsup.gif

So why the hydro ?

I would stick with what you're familiar with for the first grow or two and spend your money on the really important stuff like ventilation and odour control (as Randalizer said) - fan and filter will cost you more than the lamp.

Unless it's a very teeny cupboard, a 250 watt HPS is by far the best choice by miles. Those Heath Robinson fluorescents are a false economy .. Just a couple of 20 watt CFLs to get the seeds sprouted (the only fluorescent lamps I allow near my grow these days.)

I would recommend you look at spur shelving too, stick to white matt paint .. I'm sure there was something else ... oh yes - don't tell anyone.

I started off with hydro, nft and in 5 years trying I had moderate to bad to disasterous results then I tried soil, instant success!!! about 0.6 gram per watt which for me was brilliant.
Next I tried autopots with coco and haven't looked back since, I can't recomend them highly enough and my current grow looks as if it will break the holy grail of a gram per watt.

If I was starting off again I would go with compost as its the simplest and very forgiving if you make a mistake but get it right and you can have some cracking yields with A1 tasting weed.

Once you start getting good results then try another method
