I use cold mains water pressure instead of a pump, it generates almost invisible mist

FWIW I've played around with "aeroponic" propagators (which technically aren't aeroponic because the droplets are way too large), including the X-Stream and a homemade bubbler.
If you're a commercial grower, ignore this...but if you're a percy grower, these style propagators are overpriced even if you build your own. The only reason you get faster strike rates is because YOU CAN SEE THE ROOTS!! You don't have to wait for them to grow through root riots or rockwool.
For the percy grower, either root riots, or my preference - coco in 3" pots, is way more effective, easier and all round less grief. Literally take a cup of coco, take your cut, dip in clonex, put in coco, put pot in propagator and spray regularly. Sorted.
If you want the speedy version, HALF FILL (or even QUARTER FILL) the cup with coco. That way you can see the roots faster out the bottom of the pot. At that point I tend to take the rooted clone out, top the pot up with coco and put the clone back on top. Then wait until it roots down through the new coco and repot into a bigger one.
I think too many percy growers get hung up on propagation. For commercial guys, there's density and ease of doing large numbers of clones, but for percy, all you need is coco and cups for outstanding results (using a baby juice formula of Formulex 1ml/l, Rhizotonic 4ml/l (or H&G Root XL @ 0.3ml/l) and a drop of superthrive @ pH 5.5).

I built it to test the theory..i enjoy tinkering

Theres not much to it..The cold mains (75psi-5bar) connects to a washing machine solenoid (free) via a heat exchanger of sorts.. 20ft of 1/2" hose coiled up in a 30L cooler box (£5 from charity shop).
A 100w aquarium heater/stat (free) keeps the water in the cooler box at 68-70F which heats the seriously chilly mains water as it moves through the coiled hose en route to the solenoid.
A homebrew cycle timer (£5) set to 3 seconds on, 3 minutes off fires up the solenoid which allows water (18ml) through to the nozzles (£5). Its run to waste (collected in a bucket) and uses less than 10L a day.
