No luck so far.

First popped 2 seeds into special low nutrition seedling soil, placed on heat mats. ( this soil and method has worked flawless on other RSC seeds ( M-i-S, Lebanese 100% growth rate out of 4 seeds each ) BTW the Lebanese would probably germinate in my ass if i kept farting pinch.gif in between for moisture or oxy, virile indeed, tryed a very unhealthy stone sand compact medium and low and behold.

Second popped next 2 seeds into 90% RO 6PH water soaked for 20hours ( figured the thick shells might need a good soaking before germ ) placed into the same seedling soil, placed again on heat mats.

Nothing...

So any other ideas for my last 2 seeds? unsure.gif

Before anyone try to give me the paper method, my first method always gives way more seedlings than the beloved paper method, over and over again.

Also Namkha gave out free GTA seeds about a year ago for test growers to try out. He also made a topic called the same, never the less that topic contains very little information about any luck growing the strain anyhow. sad.gif

Perhaps it need a lil crack to help the thick seed out? Dont feel to happy cracking my 2 last seeds though sad.gif

take care,

Have you taken the temperature of the medium? Maybe the heat mat is running too hot?

I've tried to germ a few.. out of 5 i've had one that cracked it's shell but didn't progress, the others didn't move, while other strains didn't have much trouble germinating, but don't take my word for it I didn't use a proper heatmat for them and I haven't tried any 'advanced' techniques, ie. stratification, scarification

I'll try soaking them in vinegar for a couple of hours ( people recommend sulfuric acid for 90 minutes but i have no access to it ) followed by 24 hours in water

sanding the seeds might work as well

Doubt the heat was a problem, GTA seeds has been reported to like heat. And other seeds managed to germinate fine on the heat mat.

Vinegar interesting, any idea what %?

Sanding might be helpful on thick seeds. Stratification and scarification im gonna have to look into!

Would be fun to hear any success stories, i bet they are out there... under what conditions and so forth...

they use sulfuric acid followed by water for 24 hours with good success rates ( compared to boiling and mechanical stratification ( sanding ) )
the best results they had was 60 minute in acid followed by 24 hours in water.

soaking time in vinegar will obviously be longer, lemon juice is even more acidic, that could work as well. I think the best way to go about doing this is to keep monitoring the seeds as they soak.

Hi

Hmm - seems to be quite a consistent problem with the GTAs

Burningfire, Knarki, and anybody else who can show me proof they have purchased a pack feel free to pm me with a safe addy

ideally proof of purchase of some kind: anything like order ID, pic of pack or seeds will do - I will know the seeds when I see them

I will send you out a replacement pack of the GTAs plus another free pack of something

All Best,

Namkha
