Top Job Leepy,

That's kept you busy for a while......... clapping.gif

If you can do it, a couple of 150W outside lamps (like the security ones but without the PIR) look great UNDER the decking, shining upwards slightly, looks a bit like an alien landing pad but the effect can be brill.

What do you intend on keeping in your pool ?

yeah i used to have 2huge plants in 75ltr pots sat out side vince but we got picked for the most improved garden in our district so two old ladys turned up one sunday afternoon to take some pics of our garden pinch.gif i was sat in the living room the wifes outside showing off her new garden .To cut it short one of the old bastards rofl.gif came right and said "those plants over there can you tell me a little about them " quick as a flash jayne said "i cant really i picked em up at the local boot fair ...but they have come loads since i bought them for £4 each " and the old girl wasted no time at all telling her just what they were pinch.gif pinch.gif so they had to go inside cry.gif

looking good, have you considered a foam or EPS liner to insulate the pond as it's raised?

Id be telling fibs if i said i knew what you mean billious but if it makes a diffrence its only half above ground its going down 2.5 ft a bed of sand under the linner or do i still need that thing you said an EPS
billious
Sorry m8, EPS is expanded polystyrene slab.... it's insulation...... if you are in the ground a good bit you don't need any, infact it would work against you in the winter as you loose the benefit of the grounds insulation and gentle warm. If you had most of the water above ground level then in winter you would loose warmth thorough the walls as well as the surface and the pond would get colder than without the insulation, but I didn't realise it was partially sunk....

Pond looks great man, loving the blockwork. A friend got a similar one (made out of railway sleepers), nothing special though, I prefer the blocks like yours smile.gif Looks well classier.

Have you considered using cement/G4 instead of liner?

Does cost a bit more, but lasts much longer... I'm waiting for a sunny day myself :rof: Mine's nearly finished, got 2kg of G4 waiting to be used, then I can hopefully get some fish in before the frost biggrin.gif

G4 green

(not my pond)

leepy
the only reason iv built a pond dlt is because i was given as much pond linner as i want from my gaffa at work and the the breeze blocks, sand an cement also from work so its not cost me a cent to build buddy and id rather keep it that way m8 to be honest iv got 2pagolas to put over it like the ones in that pic iv just got all my stone for my water fall
The9thGrower

you know more than me, mate, but there's not a picture like that in this country -
or any other country for that matter.

Not so worried about misinformed neighbours but a jealous grower nearby... you know there's always one

..and that's all it takes.

but fair play to you - we all have learned a lot from you.

btw I hope you find work soon - if your looking that is ;-)

I'll bet the majority of peeps here who have gardens have 'em good!

treeofsatta
Yep fair enough just I would be worried that someone might recognise a house on there. Dude I gotta take the chance to say now that your big dig thread is absolutely insane and amazing! You are such an inspiration!
