Hi guys .

Now i know enough about how to grow the sacred weed to get by , but when it comes to these " normal " cultivars that we are " allowed " to grow i am somewhat lacking in knowledge .

I am growing some sweet peppers and some hot peppers ( chillis ) I noticed about 4 days or so ago they had a really bad aphid infestation , the lower leaves were covered in casts like this ( pic borrowed from rhs )

So in a blaze of mad panic i grabbed some plant vitality from the growroom and hosed all the plants down .
Seems to have worked they all seem to have buggered off or died .
Ok so far . Now upon close inspection of the plants a large amount of the new growth is badly deformed on the chilli plants , i hear this is caused by the aphids munching on the growing tips . is this right ?

Also on the underside of the larger leaves on the sweet peppers there seems to be some small white lumps eggs, mould ? what do i do ? ..

really sorry bout the picture quality my camera is not the best

A couple pics of some damaged / deformed leaves someone said this could be PeMV , but my fruit looks perfect ? any ideas . ..

Hi mate,

I've done a lot of chillis over the years and they are very suceptable to white fly, black fly and aphids.
I treat them myself with SBPI (very low dose) or neem oil.

The warping doesn't look great.....but they generally grow out of it after a month or so.

How far on with the chillis are you.....were you looking for your main crop this year?
If you can.....over winter them in a GH or conservatory and you will get a great crop next year. Otherwise they have to started really early to get anything decent off them in our climate.
