So has anyone used Levingtons seed & cutting? I've done a search but can't find anything on it. I'm just germinating some white widow at the moment, hope this is a hardy, newbie friendly strain? Anyway all i can find compost wise is miracle grow which i seem to be reading alot of bad things about, and the levingtons stuff. I'm guessing as a seedling compost its lower in nutes and less likely to cause nute burn? Would i be able to do my whole grow in this stuff by adding nutes later?

Thanks guys!

My choices are:
Miracle grow hanging plant
Levingstons seed & cutting
Levingtons cactus

Out of those 3 it would make sense to stick with the seedling and cutting compost for starting seeds, cant say i've used it though.

I'm a week in and the stuff is brilliant so far!
Easy to judge when to water, even for a first timer like me. Growth has been great so far smile.gif

I used it to start my seedlings and it was shite! It compacted loads (restricting root growth), it also felt and looked shit! I'd deffo add perlite to it if you've already got it!

That said thought, it did do it's job!

If I were you I'd get it into some B&Q John Inns No.1 or summit and then onto B&Q JI No.2!

I used JI no. 2 all the way through with mine, turned out fine. smile.gif

I grew from seed and re-potted 3 times, with the final pot being a 5ltr.

Re-compacting, try watering from the bottom using a dish or tray, the plants pull the water up as they need it then and the water running down through the soil from top feeding i find is the main cause of compacting.

I have moved on this time around though and decided to go for a compost/perlite mix, more oxygen to the roots and better water retention.
