hi guys

i moved house into a city centre just before christmas and this is my first outdoor grow here (obviously)! I've just started to think that maybe my plants won't start flowering as it's always pretty light on my patio at night. There's no direct street lighting into my garden and it's really well enclosed so no light gets through from anybody else's houses. It's when it's cloudy, so 99% of the time through summer, 100% rest of the time, and the clouds seem to reflect the light back down.

Will this affect flowering? I lived in the suburbs before and it's never been an issue.

Also, if i do need to cover them during the night i was thinking of doing it from 7pm to 7am. Thats fine monday to friday. Thing is, saturday and sunday i don't get my arse outta bed till 9.30-10. If I leave them covered up for the extra 3 hours, twice a week, will this be a problem?
If so, can i rectify that by covering them up a little later than normal on the friday and saturday nights to try and even things out a bit?

Thanks for any help

Try covering and once it is completely dark uncover them - that way the natural light in the morning will give the 12/12 effect. Saves getting up to do it cool.gif

Sure someone will come along to be more specific on this as it needs to be done earlier than 7 I think to coincide with the light in the morning - whatever time it gets light is the time (approx) they go away the night before.

I am putting mine in the shed around 7 and getting out at around 9.30 - (I can't be arsed either cool.gif ) so would be interested if this is OK too - mine are 2 thai bagseeds from a mate which I am not even sure will finish - and 5 unknowns that were sent free with my order so I am not too fussed. I want to sort the males out on these before letting them mix freely with my girls.

Good luck

You are an outdoor grower - your plants will flower when they are ready. Usually started by about now.

nearly all outdoorers will have just about started the flowering process although you may not see it for a couple of weeks

if you can be arsed to do it then i wuld recommend it because the colder it gets at night the slower your plants will metabolise. late autumn and winter is like below 10'C which is bad news . . . mine are all too big to even move but my mate always does it with his landslide and it works really really well. just a black sack isnt sufficient though invest in a big bin that you can drop it in or a room at night is best . . . your bud will be noticeably denser if it is in a greenhouse by day and inside out of the cold by night
