Full Version: When Do You Use Pk 13/14?

I ask this question as I've always used 15ml per 10L 3 weeks before harvest (as it says on the bottle) and for about 7 days, but now when I looked at the Canna website it states using it 4 weeks before harvest, and to complicate it further I was just looking through the feed charts on the Spam catalogue (very useful) and I noticed on the Canna charts (although I'm using Green Dream) that it says to use 5-15ml per 10L FOR 3 weeks from week 5 -7 on a 9 week flower.

I'm 17 days into a Super Lemon Haze 10 week flower, so when should I add PK 13/14? unsure.gif

I think i read on here before that they keep changing the instructions for the pk 13/14. If you try searching Im sure you will find it. It was only a few weeks back.

edit: I have tried seaching but can't remember when I saw it or the name of the thread. Hope someone else can help you.

Thanks for the reply I'll have a dig around.

I wondered why my first post got edited as it was just the name of a company not an actual link. What makes it even more confusing is that the names Green's and SPAM get bandied around all the time, yet nothing gets edited.
amyds2104
I think you can mention greens but not other shops like SPAM. Did you buy from them in the end?
tywyn
No I've not bought anything from Greens yet. The last place I bought feed etc from was an online shop in Norfolk and the only thing I buy in the local hydro shop now is Gold Label Special Mix.
amyds2104
That shop in norfolk sounds a bit dodgy. Iv seen a few posts about a shop in norfolk that arent to positive. Iv brought stuff from both SPAM and Greens. Both are good. Last time I recieved something from greens though it had greens horticulture on the package which has put me off buying online. Did the stuff from norfolk arrive alrite?

Well I ordered on the Wednesday and by Thursday 5.15pm the order still hadn't been shipped, so I phoned them and they did it there and then and I received the goods the following day, but I probably won't use them again. It was only because I was after Green Dream tbh.

I used SPAM about 4 years ago, they were fine although they are a little pricey tbh, but the catalogue is good and a great read when you're taking a dump smile.gif

The Green's packaging thing puts me off a bit too tbh.
amyds2104
Never used SPAM. I drove to their london one when it first opened and the prices were more than I could get it locally so was quite disappointed. I thought because it had three shops at the time it would be cheaper. That green dream looks quite good. Have you used it before?
tywyn
Yeah for a company with quite a few shops SPAM are expensive and I don't plan on buying with them soon.

Well it's the first time I've used Green Dream tbh as I've always used Canna, but had been having some nutrient lockout problems with it (especially the one part Terra) so I tried Green Dream instead. For a start there is no green sludge in my 4mm pipes or autopot valve anymore or any deposit in my autopot trays due to the slurry technology, so it's really much easier to maintain the system. The plants are greener than I've grown in the past and there is no burnage at all on them, so I'm happy with it, but we'll see in the crop I get.

What feed do you use?
amyds2104
Im using Canna at the moment but have pretty much used them all. I do like the advanced range as well but If I used all their nutrients all the time I would need to remortgage my house (if i owned one)

I will try the plant magic range next I think as have tried some of their products and have been really impressed. My mate got a free sample of the coco grow and tried it on two of his plants and the difference was incredible. I would like to try green dream because it is just a one part nutrient and also I like the fact you shake it and you can actually see its all mixed up with none left at the bottom. Psychologicaly it would make the difference lol.gif biggrin.gif

Have you tried any of the palnt magic stuff yet?
tywyn
I've not heard of Plant Magic before tbh, but having just searched it looks very interesting and described as 'The Next Big Thing' although it's not cheap, but there again it's not a cheap hobby unfortunately smile.gif It sounds quite simlar to Canna Boost Accelerator.

The Green Dream is a one part but it has 20% more nutrients than most 2 part feeds. I also like the fact that you have to shake the bottle for 20 secs to mix the nutes and when you pour it looks like milk.

The Advanced Nutrients range is huge and it would indeed cost a small fortune by the look of it to use their products. I'm interested in trying House and Garden in the future and also maybe Biobizz. There's so many products out there...............................
amyds2104
I know. When I go into a hydro shop im like a lil kid in a sweet shop but with a lil less money. I love it... House and garden products are good. Some of them are pricey as well especially Roots Excelurator and top shooter.

Yeah I am def going to try the green dream I think. Are you just growing in autopots?
tywyn
smile.gif yeah I could go mad on spending growing products too, but I need a new PC so I can't spend a much as I'd like when I get a DR120 fan/filter etc for my next grow.

I'm using a 2 pot autopot system with soil and a 400w HPS in a wardrobe atm with no fan or filter, but it's near a secluded window and has a desk fan blowing into it, and all I do I fill the tank with nutes and that's it really, but when I get the tent I plan on doing 2 in autopots and 3 or 4 organically. The later when I've go some spare cash I'd like a 600w and maybe get an 8 pot wilma to go with the autopots or an aqua/water farm.

What setup have you got?
amyds2104
I have a dr120 in my spare room with a wilma 8 and 600w HPS with diamond reflector, 6" HVK fan and filter and up in the loft I have a couple of pots and coco under some euro reflectors. In my wardrobe I have a GT205 which I am trying out (experimenting again) It was hell trying to find space for my clothes i can tell ya. It only started with a few pots and soil and i got bit by the growing bug and it is now spreading round the bunglalow. tongue.gif

How are you finding the autopots? The wilma is good but I quite look doing manual feeding etc. give my babies the personal touch.
tywyn
Wow that's quite an impressive setup you have there, you certainly have been bitten by the bug smile.gif How do you find the DR120? I'd love a 600w Diamond reflector or a cool tube eventually and I'll be going for a 5 inch acoustic box/fan as it will be in a bedroom and needs to be as quiet as possible. I could put it in the living room as there is no landlord coming back and forth as I own the property, but I always worry 'what if the police called etc' not that I attract their attention and have lived here 5 years and nothing, but what if something happened in the area and they wanted to come in or there was some other problem and they wanted to enter the property? The attic has plenty of space for growing, but it needs floorboarding up and electricity wired up into there.

How you getting on with a GT205? Eventually doing a SCROG with an NFT is something that interests me for the future and alo trying out cocoa. With the setup I've had up until now it's been very restrictive. So many products,' so many methods................................

The autopots are effortless tbh, I see it as just like organically really, just that I have to fill the tank with nutes rather than a watering can, and the 10" pots are in soil anyway, sort of a cross between hydro and organic. Just a lazy mans organic grow I suppose, with the autopot valve controlling the feeding smile.gif I have never grown pure organically, but I will do a few on my next grow and i can understand about watering the manually giving them a personal touch. I saw that Hants Haze pulled 39oz from 7 x SLH growing organically.
amyds2104
I love the DR120! I dont know what i would do without the tents now. Thats it you hear so many stories of the police storming into peoples houses just to save them or their neighbours or something random and then coming across the grow. Im lucky cos my landlord dont ever come round. As long as he gets his money he is happy.
GT205 I am not getting on with to well. I dont know why but its just not giving me the results I would like but hey you win some you lose some. smile.gif Cocoa is great and i get some of my best results from that. I think if I was guna stick with one method at the moment it would be the coco. The lazy option is always nice. Gives you more time to actually the smoke the stuff we grow. yahoo.gif
What strain are you growing?
Iv never given organic growing a chance really. I should do....so much to do and try...so litle time rolleyes.gif
