Hi all, I am new to this site. Thanks for having me.

I have a few questions regarding this video which im sure many of you have seen

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...hl=en&dur=3

1. Could this feeding regime be used with any other strains than k2? If so what ones

2. He puts 9 plants under one light but i have been told that 100w per plant is best for yield. Any ideas?

3 It doesnt mention what his final yield was, could anyone hazard a guess from the bags at the end.

I am looking to copy this grow on a smaller scale in a 1.2x1.2x2m tent. Using 1 600w hps, the same soil mix, the same hesi nutrients. With either the same or a higher yielding strain.

Thanks

Welcome aboard buddy - haven't watched the vid all the way through....not convinced by their watering method ...read around for some other opinions of how it sould be done in compost - here's a starting point.......http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=139421

Saw a mention of 100w per plant from another poster. First I've heard of it, and doesn't take account of whether people are growing a big scrogged plant in a massive container or dozens of smaller plants in little containers. Both methods if done well can yield similarly overall under the same light.

Important thing is light intensity and for that that are looking for about 50w per square foot. You are a little under, but on the other hand the 600w is the most efficient HPS so it's swings and roundabouts.

Good luck with your grow, and have a good read around the site before deciding on a definate method and strain. All strains very in feeding requirements, but the basic principles are the same. Also have a think about organic nutes if growing in compost rather than chem nutes.

How powerful is the light? Be OK if it is a 1kW HID. Not so clever if it is a 27W CFL.

Thanks for th replies, as i sad i would like to copy this grow on a smaller scale. I posted the link as i knew there would be questions i would find hard to answer. So if you have got the time to watch the full vid before replying (its only half an hour). It would be apreciated

Hi Dazed

I enjoyed that clip - wish i had seen it before i built my grow room!

The watering seemed very precise

All the plants are sat in a sump / paddling pool

If one plant over watered a drier plant could soak it up - like capillary matting

Humidity was precise also - watering regime linked to humidity i think

Lack of potting up shocked me!. If it was my full time job or i was being paid i would try different ideas to save labour

27 x 16 litre pots ! spliff.gif

If i had the veg space i would have tried that in a 6 litre pot! Pal of mine is lazy and does it

The guy in clip took each plant out regularly for inspection - he could have watered a dry one same time!

He could have had the slowest drinkers at the front - so he could pick them up ( weigh them )

They should be getting roughly 1g/watt if experienced - so in the region of 1800grams or about 60 oz from 3 x 600W.

It's really hard to guess yields from pics/vid but looking at all of the plants hanging to dry I really don't think they got anywhere near that, but could well be wrong.

What could they have done different? Advice from this site would likely have been too put the clones in much smaller pots to start of with, and pot up a couple of times during veg to finals. Water with a wet/dry cycle, and not feeding until in finals for a couple of weeks. I guess this vid was sponsered by Plagron/Hesi...... wink.gif.......

Take a look at this diary Owds Gone Potty for a by the book compost grow under a single 600w light. There's pages of comment, but if in a hurry skip through to Owd's updates as he goes along.

e2a And while you are at it look at his current diary Simple Smellyberry - coco rather than compost but still relevant and an exceellent read.
