Hi all

You should be able to get an ounce. Some people claim more.

With fluorescents, the key is to get the plants really close - so training is essential. I find bending / topping works very well for me with my small HPS lamps. Fluorescents might well get me trying SCROG - though it's always seemed much too much hassle.

I started off with vertical 4 foot linears and stuck them in the middle of the cupboard and wrapped my plants around them. If I was forced to use these over-sized CFLs, that would be my approach - probably with the lamps inside a 2 inch wire mesh tube.

Are you definitely limited to 125 watts ?

Ventilation / odour control will always be your biggest (capital) expense - at £100 - £150.
Electricity is usually the second.

Given the hassle and risk it's usually a good idea to scale up.
Also doing one large (winter) grow per year has a lot of benefits.

Im using a 125w CFL atm and its looking ok. Im about 2/3 weeks from harvest and i expect to get about half oz as i only did a 3 week veg with no training at all just to see what the light can do. Im hoping the buds fatten up in the next week or so though. The best tip anyone can give you is keep the light close. As long as your plant isnt touching the CFL there will be no leaf burn. Try to keep the canopy level and as compostverte said a scrogg would help out alot.

I regularly get 2oz from 2 x 125w but struggle to get more. One thing I have found is that the bulb efficiency and therefore potential yield drops very quickly from new - especially if you are flowering with them. They really need replacing every grow to get the best yields - expensive and not great for the environment.....current grow is with a pair of brand new 125W CFL's - I'm crossing fingers and toes for a bigger yield, but no matter what I get will be upgrading to HPS rather than buying more CFL's. This time last year I was also growing with fresh bulbs and was looking good for a 3oz+yield. Unfortunately bud rot struck, and I was left with about 2oz of dried bud after binning the rotten crap.

Take a look at Goldies Octabox for a interesting single 125w CFL grow....but you would need a source of clones to grow like this.
