Hello peeps ,

wink.gif

Lets begin !

So this year i decided to go all Passion 1 fems , sprouted 10 got 9 and was happy with that. I started alot later this year as an experiment and to try to keep the height down ! Thats not happened ! ! HAHAHHA thats another story ! So here is the 1st part of the story

So they looked ok and nice and happy ! on the 31st may09

But then for some strange reason one died ? or got eaten ! so thats left me with 8 of the little devils. Still plenty to work with to ensure a good winter !

2 different sets of problems ! only effecting 2 plants at this stage. I started giving them the Bio Grow feed as per last year and the 2nd picture i think is N diff started to pick up so that was looking promising. however the claw like problem is still persistant today and annoying the piss out of me ! ! It cant be over fert because im not giving her any now ! ! I will put some more later stage pics to show how bad the problem is now !

Hiya Dabeef,

Sad to see your plants looking so poorly.
Fill in your profile mate and this will help people to advise you on how to combat this, most info in the post about the medium used, ferts and any thing else that might have contributed would also help.

Peace,
GG
leetmike
put them in bigger pots and get more air to them.

Cheers Mr goblin , valid points noted cool.gif

Before i fill in the profile i can tell you straight off the bat that they are

All passion No1 femms

All grown in local garden centres award winning potting soil

In 6 Ltr black stealth plastic pots ph34r.gif

Only given Bio grow ( started at 1ml per Ltr and then read last years threads and realised i should be using 2ml per Ltr ) DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH

Always tended to each day , never left to completly dry out

Watered with a combination of rain water and outside tap

And all started about a month later than last year and much much bigger ! ! unsure.gif

Basically the same set up as last year. They dont look all that sad if im honest smile.gif Could be alot happier agreed and thats what me and you are here to solve. The great weed dectectives ! ! spliff.gif 13.gif

granted this one could be happier in the leaf department but hey the other 5 are farkin massive and going hell for leather ! ! !

some people have suggested that the brown spots could be from a fungal infection and more ventilation is needed unsure.gif the door is always open and the vent is usually open at a crack during the night and auto opening during the day when its hot enough to force it open unsure.gif So tonight i went to the oppersite panel to the door and put loads of holes at the top, middle and bottom with a sharp pointy thing and now have about 30 holes ( 5mm max diameter )

do we think this will make a difference if not to the brown spots at least to the air flow which i thinks ok anyway at the mo.

Cheers all

i named this picture ...could be happier smile.gif

They look really good mate - just make sure you keep plenty of air flowing in there - it will be cooler at night soon, and there will be more condensation about.

Good luck. smile.gif

Andypotatoes,

cheers dude they are starting to get me juices flowing ! ! ! smoke.gif smoke.gif

Last year i had them going in the same green house with no holes until late Oct very early Nov and the bud rot hit just then stoned.gif

I managed to save about 90% thought so im hoping i will be scoring in the 99% this year yahoo.gif yahoo.gif

Any tips on stopping condensation are very welcome. ( plastic windows in the girls house and a gravel floor )

High Dabeef,

What potting soil did you use, it looks like they are deficient of one or more micro nutrients from what I can see, personally I would go buy some thing like westlands multi purpose with added john innes, remove them from there pots and remove as much of the old compost without braking to many roots and re pot them in the new compost. If the compost your using has been made locally by a garden centre did you ask if it had been sterilised and micro/nutrients added after the composting process, use a well known branded compost as I mentined, except miricle grow of course. Always use the best possible compost you can get, it's the most important thing on my shopping list.

Good luck,
GG

This is supposed to be award winning and all the plants in my garden are in this and they love it but i do take on board the above. When i opened the 1st bag of compost from there this year it looked very different to last years , more mulch and twigs ! lol.gif

They are in 10l pots cos i just checked ! ! do you think they would benefit bigger pots and as they are all a week or 2 into flowering now ?

Cheers Mr GG smoke.gif smoke.gif have a toke on me smile.gif

The potting soil your using is sound going by the ingredients mate, could it be heat stress in the greenhouse with thos crispy lookin leaves.
Some nice looking buds forming there.
e2a: It looks like the potting soil is to strong for young plants/seedlings looking at them younguns now.

Peace,

well a few days of nice weather and things are looking good. Adding top max this year and so far i think there is a makred difference. It still seems the sickest plant is doing the best and furthest along. Anyways please feel free to have a look and say what you want smile.gif

HI d|t smile.gif

I am taking leaves off at the moment but wasnt sure how much of a hair cut i should give them ? I was thinking that as i dead head and look after all the other type of plants in the garden that this should benefit them and incourage the growth and goodness to the buds / fruit smile.gif

Im getting out there today and moving stuff around to give them a better share of the light, also taking one out and letting her sit on the patio by the house smile.gif

Cheers and peace out

If I were you, I would plant them in the soil directly next year - the pots are a little small for plants that size.
Remove all dead and dying leaves now, try and really open the plants up so the air can get around them, and avoid any congested areas. Make sure the plants don't touch each other if you can. Keep as many vents open as possible, and watch for droplets of condensation from the ceiling, or any rain ingress as the weather worsens..

Good luck - they look reallly good. smile.gif

Cheers Mr spuds !

Taking one out side will free up some space which will be nice ! but im really going to struggle keeping them all apart as they are so big and i dont have any other options to place them ! ! I am using a lot of string to pull branches closer and hold them together . Im going out there soon to have a dabble so we will see the results after ( and post the pics )

Cheers

Worrying times as we enter the final lap

Good luck -

yes, like andy said, remove anything dead and nasty looking

i do it indoors, anything yellow, brown, rusty etc all gets removed, i either remove the entire leaf or it its just on the end you can trim it off, leaving the leftover clean bits.

good luck with the grow, should be a cracker biggrin.gif

Had a good bash today at all the leaves but got plenty more to do ! ! ! will post some pics soon as they are swelling by the day ! ! i predicting 3 weeks for 2 of the girls as they are the ones with the worst leaves and it seems they have reacted and pushed the bud growth far quicker than the others that are looking a lot greener. For the others im thinking weather permitting 1st 2 weeks of October tongue.gif tongue.gif

Peace out and cheers for the pic ! ! !
dabeef
so a week or so has past and boy are things getting bigger ! ! !

the trouble now is the amount or lack of space ¬! ! im really concerned as i cant seem to do anything about it . Its to late to cut, its to early to cut spliff.gif spliff.gif and my neighbours are freaking me out ! ! ! lol.gif

Any suggestions are more than welcome to aid with this little issue ! im moving the tom plants outside this weekend so this should free up some more space but other than that this is what i have to work with ! ! ! ! ( not that bad i admit )

Looks like you've got some great buds coming along really well in there, that Passion #1 is nice and early.

Only thing I can suggest is is keep pulling them down if you can anymore with your staking and tying. I'd imagine that they've finished stretch now though and that you will be OK.

Is the yellowing just something that we have to put up with or is it getting the right balance of everything to prevent it ? Seem to always get towards the end of the grow and used to it now wink.gif

Lovely pics, your buds are coming along really nicely guitar.gif . It seems to me quite a few people in pots are having trouble with the yellow, I think it is from the plants being pot bound and the only way to get around this is another potting up into very large pots probably around the start of flowering or putting them in the ground. Your pots really do look quite small for the size of plants too!

Silly question but if they were put into bigger pots earlier , would that not make them bigger ?

Possibly but I don't think sticking to small pots is a good method of keeping your plants smaller. Personally I would top and train and/or start the plant later to keep it to the right size, with a hungry annual like cannabis I think you're going to have trouble if you don't provide it with adequate root space throughout it's life.

net2-3 cheers , the strange thing is that i started them a month later this year and they have got bigger ! next year i will keep track of the potting up dates and maybe work towards a much larger pots with maybe fewer plants in the green house and maximise the return from 3 huge trained mummas ! !

is it a problem if you take some buds off before others ? You might not be able to see but some buds are coming up to 70 % of the pistels brown and other buds on the same plant that are about 30%

Last year i only had to do this to one plant and there didnt appear to be any negative effects

Cheers

nice loooking plants shouldnt do any damage taking the riper buds off one plant and leaving the underfinished buds on there iv done it myself and there was no noticable problem. you had many mould problems iv had a few bits of my blueberry in the bin due to it, the thicker the bud the worse the problem especially on bits where its held up by string.
net2-3
Buds are looking absolutely fantastic, bet you can't wait to have them drying.

I've done staggered harvesting before, I think it's well worth it on outdoor plants, I found the bits left behind carried on filling out and ripening nicely biggrin.gif
