I dont know if anyone else has noticed this year but at least round where i live there seems to be an abundance of moths. there seems to be a few everywhere, in my cupboards and drawers, on my curtains and walls. Never known anything like it.

soo evidentley the fookers have also been in my grow coz i keep finding bloody caterpillars on my plants. They are little between a few mm long to 2 cm long, found about 6 so far

My plants are far into flower, they only have 1-2 weeks before they are getting chopped, something i have been patiently looking forward to and now this.

It isnt just the damage they are doing eating my lovely buds, shitting everywhere or spinning their sticky silk all over the place, its the damage i am doing looking for the bastards. They like to live burried deep in my buds, ill know there is one about because i can see the silk spinning and shit is more concentrated in 1 place. But even though i try and search for it really carefully my fingers pulling the buds apart is damaging the hairs and trichs.

Any ideas what i can do short of picking them out my buds to get rid? Cant you catch slugs in a glass of beer as they are drawn to it?... something like that would be great lol.gif. Im also worried about when i harvest, i mean are they gonna keep eating my crop as its drying?? All the buds will be ruined if i comb through each and every single bit of them.

grr, horrible things, the sight of them eating my buds has turned me into a sadistic killer. I sat and watched with joy as the bastards drownd in a cup of bleach yesterday!.... Help!! lol.gif

Hey.. thanks for all the replys... whistling.gif

Just thought id update.

After much researching last night i came to the conclusion that i have bud worm. Small caterpillar type thing, attacks plants late in flower, likes to live in the middle of dense buds and eat them from the inside out, can make buds mouldy in the middle due to rotting dead bits eek.gif great, thats all i need i thinks.

so had another look at plants last night and found another! cry.gif couldnt find a way on the net to get rid of them short of hand picking them off or spraying chemicals. went to bed feeling quite crap. Got up this morning and had another look and found another 2 and a few dead flower tops where the stems had been munched through crybaby.gif

I thought enough is enough. my plants are just past the breeder time for flowering (although they did need another 1-2 weeks imo) im going to have to chop them or i will end up with nothing left, ive damaged quite a lot of trichs looking for the things. BUT i thought how am i gonna get em all off my buds, i cant risk missing any and them eating my harvest and making it mouldy.

Then i thought, they can drown, i drownd one the other day. I could submerge my cut plants in water and kill them all. So i filled the bath up and did just that. I left them in there about an hour. i was real careful with them so i didnt knock any more trichs off than i had to though. It worked, there were a few dead laying in the bottom of the tub.

Cut the fan leaves off and left buds on a towel for a couple hours and then manicured them and hung to dry. 1 more worm fell out whilst i was trimming but other than that i didnt find any more thank god. i did find some buds were mouldy though, inside, these were promptly chopped off and thrown away.

All my salvaged bud looks normal so far, still full of trichs and drying nicely so fingers crossed. I got 16 worms off my 5 small plants in total.

Shite, sounds like you've been having fun! Hope there isn't any more and your remaining buds are ok. I would imagine if there are any they'd move on pretty sharpish once the buds start drying. Enjoy the fruits of your labour mate. smoke.gif
