I've had my carbon filter less than a year, but now the sleeve is black fair do's BUT can you wash sleeve and put back on or do you need to buy another one OR shall i just buy a new carbon filter.
Its for a 150 mm duct

I would try washing first,mine is the same and i`m gonna try it first,you can make you`re own sleeve too,don`t buy.

mate gone black is you humdity high? this must be dust from intake from chimmley? wash it ? for sure ? mate but i dont now a lot so these are just questions not remarks

That's what they're designed for, washing. Dirty filter will reduce air flow quite a bit too, so yes wash it well.

Funnily enough, I washed mine with the Mrs's knickers yesterday. It will now probably kill any bug that gets into the room from now on

They go black with general crud fairly quickly in normal use......wash.......
