hello all, not been around in a long while just a quick question to you, I've been rooting my 2 plants out in little 2.5 litre pots and my plan is to plant them at one side of a long window box so i can grow them horizontally by tying them down to the box.

My question is will they root out fully in a long box like that? or is it too shallow they'll find the first hole on the side I plant them at and not root out fully? I normally flower in 5 litre pots but thought going this way would allow me to increase pot volume.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

RD my friend! Good to see you mate been a while... Anyway haven't got the boxes yet but was thinking about 50x25x20cm's meaning the roots will have 10cm's to grow down and about 35cm's to go sideways.

Yeah, where you been mate? lol.gif cool.gif I reckon the problem will be with how much vegging time left and if they start to flower wil they stop rooting and you`ll have constantly damp areas of compost.

How about just putting them in the box evenly spaced. They'll probably root better and throughout the box more. Perhaps top the compst with hydroleca to help stop rotting?

Excuse my crap drawing..

Ratdog- laptop broke mate total disaster still don't have the pictures up from my last harvest!! they've been vegging fo a while maybe 6 weeks but I've been a bit negligent and kept them root bound in the small pots will give them 2/3 weeks onc ein new pots before the switch.

Andy potatoes- Will look into hydroleca thanks for that, and the drawing was top notch mate! Not putting them in the same box though they'll be in seprate boxs side by side.

So whats the verdict just give it ago see how we get on? Putitng them in the middle might just make sense, my blueberry's a two headed mutant so was thinking of putting her in the middle and and taking the heads opposite ways

I would go for in the middle and top them.

This will allow you to train the new branches down each side, and give the roots more room eitherside.

Had just popped onto say putting them in the middle is the only thing that makes sense, I need to put my crack pipe down before I come up with growing plans, so if its in the middle will the lack of depth no longer be a problem??
