I've seen this on a popular online auction site and wondered if this is any good for a small home, personal setup:

1. 4 X 20LTR POD'S
2. 4 X 5INCH/125MM AIR STONE'S
3. 1 X 600Ltr/hr SUPER SILENT AIR PUMP 4 OUTLET
4. 4 X 80MM NET POTS
5. 4 X AIRLINE
6. 4 X 25MM ROCKWOLL CUBES
7. 4 X LOTS OF CLAY PEBBLES

All for about £60. What do you reckon?

I had a look at this topic earlier but all the pictures have gone. I'll have another look though - maybe I missed them.

I bet the yeildmaster costs more than 60 quid! I also looked at building my own but by the time you add up the cost of proper buckets, air and water pumps etc it just wasnt worth it compared to the 6 pod complete system i got with a 70 litre res for 55 quid off an auction site.

I have to agree with the people saying buy a kit

a decent 20l black bucket and lid costs £6 x 4 =£24
the piping and grommets will cost you £10
a decent air pump will cost you £25
net pots, air stones, silicon etc £15

it's actually cheaper to buy a kit imo

a mate has the yieldmaster 6 bucket system and it cost him £90 which I think is pretty reasonable
