Hey folks.
I’m looking for recommendations for strains to grow at home.
I’m an experienced gardener, but have no real experience of growing the modern strains.
I can raise young plants in the greenhouse easily enough, but will have to transfer them indoors once they get recognisable to my nosey neighbours.
What would be ideal is a strain that will mature happily enough without extra lighting other than what it gets from a south-facing window?
What do you all suggest?

Got a grow room built at last then? or are you just gunna grow outdoor this spring/summer? There's plenty of spots in your neck of the woods where you could crop a field mate!

Growing outdoors here is more difficult than you’d first think. The countryside here is full of people from the surrounding towns stashing their goods all over the place.

I was thinking more of a conservatory type situation. Hoping to time it right for the optimum amount of natural sunlight.
What do you think?

well for a small fast growing strain u can get some early girl (i'll be growing some of that soon along wiv Hollands Hope). it says (this is ealy girls i'm talking about) on Nirvana its a good short plant good for ledges so maybe it may help u from not getting spotted by ur neighbours!

there is a great deal of confusion over the Nirvana name - the (incorrect) link that you put in is for the parent company in Holland - anything ordered through them have to pass through customs, with all the attendant risks - you are far better off ordering from UK420 - the prices are good, and from recent experience, very, very discreet! The other manifestation of the Nirvana name is "Gipsy Nirvana" - a gentleman who is not held in the highest esteem amongst the cognoscenti - amongst other things, he's stupid enough to put a gold label on the postal packet loudly proclaiming "Gipsy Nirvana" - all it takes is a clued up postman who doesn't like you (or your dog....)

If you really want a Nirvana variety, Joolz posted something yesterday saying that all UK420 members can get all the standard Nirvana beanz, (not femz) for £7 a pack by buying through UK420!!

Drop him a line before parting with your hard-earned. It costs you nothing and may save you some money.

I’ve said this several times before, one last time, there are many many more bad reports on Mau’s seeds than good ones. If you are going to buy Hollands Hoop/Hope or Early Girl don’t buy them from Mau’s Nirvana seedbank they tend not to be true to type, cheap over priced junk.

Get Hollands Hope from Dutch Passion and Early Girl from the Sensi Seed bank if they are your choices.

I've had Nirv HH and out of 3, 1 male and two perfectly homogenic fems that produiced nice bud. But i guess I was lucky and I live in Swiss. The thing is it wasn't knock out like Nirv stated. I reckon with NIRv you'll get ok stuff but neverm ind blowing.

If you are lucky you might get an average smoke!

Or you could buy a pack of FDM 50/50 mix ( 20 beans) for 15 quid that will produce bud that makes you happy for many months to come

If you buy a pack of Blue Widow for 30 quid (13 beans), we give you a pack of 50/50 mix for free

thats 33 quality beans for 30 quid instead of 30 knockoff beans for the same price

I'm not suggesting you buy FDM because of that, was just using our own offer as an example of what gems are out there if you can look past the cheap and the free

they only cheap or free for one reason

Nirvanas AK48 might only be one number away from Serious Seeds AK47, doesnt mean it will produce anything nearly as good

I'd go with that, I've tried growing Nirvana's White Widow, Power Plant, and Skunk (before I knew better)- all seem sadly lacking in power - then I got some reasonably priced seeds from a reputable company (Sensi) - it was a "Glastonbury Special" - 16 beans for £14 - "Doublegum" (their Bubblegum ripoff) - germinated swiftly, strongest plants I've ever seen, and the power!!!!!
-worth a tiny bit more for some good seeds!
Joolz -you deal with Sensi, howsabout stocking their White Label Doublegum? - I've been knocked out by it (in all ways!), and I reckon it would fill the bill for an easy to grow first-timers plant!

Woody no the FDM are not any good outside in the uk.

Like OT said mate, the FDM may do ok in your conservatory. But if we have another crackin' summer like the last, they'll fatten up just lovely

hi i triad chronic by serious seeds out door last year .it did very well and gave me 7 ozs a plant.also it was a short but very stocky plant,good for us uk growers,out of sight out of mind.. si
