Its probably down to genetics, you just chose the wrong ones! Sorry, don't know how else to put that

Most modern strains are bred for high THC, so we are told. Seems we need to get back to the Landraces and natural strains we all used to smoke decades ago, which have all that CBD and other such stuff in 'em. Well, I don't know about all that ..... but you are lucky - some modern day cannabis works for you so you should be able to find something else to use that will help. I know all this "THC, CBD, Terpenes" thing is very scientific and all that, and everyone takes it as gospel, but I'm more inclined to say just play the strains game, see what fits. Try some landraces by all means (but they can be very hard to grow right), but grow other stuff too, stuff more suited to a personal growroom. Throw a bit of pollen around and grow the seeds out, maybe?
I can't advise you on strains. I suspect the only folks who can are fellow RA sufferers. But even then you face the problem of "What works for one may not work for another". But they should be able to maybe point you to a good starting point, at least.
Curing is a very important aspect of growing, for sure. I find that the potency changes quite a lot after six or more weeks in the jar. Not stronger, but .... hmmm .... deeper, fuller? Is that of analgeisc importance? I can't say. I've never found any analgesia in weed, but thats just me.
