Well hey-ho!
Thankyou to Djay and the Female Seeds team once again for letting me participate in this test, very grateful! And also thankyou for being so patient while i went to Amsterdam .
My previous grow was some of Nirvana's ICE so it'll be interesting if they're anything alike.

I had to build a new veg cab for this one as i currently have some plants 5 days into flower in my flowering cab. It's right under my underwear shelf .
Basically i want to give this a huge veg, about 9 weeks! 9 weeks of topping and training to try and get them as mature and as beasting as they can be!
So effectively, this'll take a while.

My new veg cab is at the bottom of a built in cupboard.
It measures; Height 73cm, Width 90cm and Depth 30cm.
It'll be lit firstly by a 22W fluro-tube and then by an Eco light when i find mine again!
I've created a cover as you can see in the picture out of black-out sheeting to prevent light leak, the walls are loosely covered 'cause i ran out of it.
It's pretty small but i only intend to take 3 plants fully into flower. So it'll be the 3 that i think are the best when it comes time to switch to 12/12. The rest will be donated or killed, we'll see! Infact i imagine as i slowly pot up the weak ones will cease to be.
They'll probably be kept in smaller pots alot longer than i normally would, potting up slowly to try and maximise roots.

I've put 5 Ice x Grapefruit and 3 Black Widow into seperate wine glasses of boiled then cooled water.
They will be placed in soil tomorrow or whenever they show enough tap root.
I'll be growing in Westlands West+ Multipurpose compost with Biobizz Grow, Bloom and maybe Alg-a-mic and some epsom salts, that's it!

First pic is the seeds in water, second is veg cab open! third is veg cab hiding! Like a game of veg cab peek-a-boo if you will.

To start with this is gonna be pretty boring, plants growing roots isn't much to keep us amused!

Spot on m8 will be nice to see how big they get with a long veg time, i normally veg for around 8 weeks or more nut it depends on time and space i guess.

Whats the final pot size your going to use m8 ?

djay Probably be 11 litre pots, maybe 15 if i can fit them in my cab . It'll be my first time doing such a long veg, i normally only veg for 4/5 weeks so we'll see how they go.

Well, all seeds have sunk today after a tap from my finger, another 24 hours and they'll be ready for tiny pots .

Seeds were put into pots today and put into the veg area.
Nothing else to report really.

All of the Black Widow had cracked and were showing nice bits of tap root, the ice x grapefruit were showing a little less but the seeds were so bewtiful with their tiger stripes i put them in anyway.
They'd been soaking for about 48 hours so any longer and i was worried they might rot or something.

Anyway, we're off! Woo-hoo!

Just a tip.. I would get them under HPS asap... as mine have streched a bit.. even with the flo's almost touching.

Treeman My HPS is taken up with flowering at the moment, that light you see in the pic is the only one i have at the moment until i sort an eco out.
My previous experience with this has been that they seem to grow to the light, then out horizontally. So hopefully they'll do the same!

Djay, any chance you could enlighten me to the various GF x ICE pheno's (if known) and the Black Widow pheno's please mate?

No movement in the veg cab, growing under the soil i expect!

Hi m8 the gf x ice i dont know as i have not had the pleasure of growing them out yet, the blackwidow has a very sativa pheno very leggy i mean really long nodes and like loads of em and will take 10+ weeks to flower out not a huge yield on that one but massive resin production.

the other pheno i had was this one it had an astounding smell and taste and filled the air and lungs with thick rich dense smoke very tasty and very strong.

If i was growing them out again i would stick with this pheno in the picture as the more sat one is very nice high wise it just takes to long to flower out and just does not have the yield.

How far on is that Black Widdow Djay?

That's in her 5th week of flower m8 think she went 10 or 11 weeks but i like a sedative stone helps more with pain than being all fidgety

Well this morning i peeked in the veg cab and two Black Widow and 1 GF x ICE have popped their heads above ground!
Temps are 26c, i currently have no air flow in there but at the moment i don't think it matters, the cupboard door is slightly open so air from the window whooshes in and out when their is a big gust.
In a week or so i'll need to sort out some sort of fan to blow over them or something.

I was gonna grab a few pictures but my camera is outta battery and they're not that interesting anyway.
Till something more interesting happens!

Popped my head in and saw that now 2 Black Widow and 2 Grapefruit x ICE have popped their heads above grounds.
Picture below of them all and the four who have shown themselves!

It's a lovely feeling nurturing these into adulthood!

And this morning we have 8/8!
Incredibly healthy seeds i must say, never had any that crack and then pop out the ground this fast!

Aye amazed at the germ rate on these as they were very fresh indeed.

If so i shall get it in there as they're so leggy and weak stemmed at the moment!

Well.. they're about mebby the size of the pot long. But as i just watered them they're now lieing at 90degrees to the light... horizontally along the pot...
The ICE x Grapefruit are actually semi-alright, it's the BW's that are insane.
Don't get me wrong - the iced grapefruit's look leggy as fuck too, just the BW are worse.

I need to get them re-potted and a fan in there me thinks.

Glad i'm not the only one, mine are a tad worse though, as i say no air movement in the veg cab atm at all.

The black widow can be that way it's best to train and top them if your short of height also a fan would help stiffen the main stalk up and keep them as close to the light as you can to stop em stretching more.

It's just because of the low air movement i think.
I'll repot them soon and bury the stem and get a fan in there blowing air about to prompt them to stiffen up a bit.
Been working solidly for 9 days now though.. only tonight and tomorrow then a few days off where i can sort things out!

9 days man you know what they say all work and no play etc.... once there buried they'll be fine.

Day 16

And finally an update!
Yesterday i decided to cycle round Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae with the Missus and two of her pals.
I can barely move my legs now... this morning i was alright but it's crept on me and it huuuuuuurts .

Anyway, plants were re-potted. Two weren't though as their rootball is kinda non-existant and one looks to have some odd sort of fungal problem.
First up the four ICE x Grapefruit that were potted up.
Forgive the leaf's looking insane it's just cause when i moved them it all kinda folded in on itself and at the time of taking the pics hadn't corrected it. More airflow anyone? A charger has been sourced and air-flow is almost imminent!

Second pic is the 2 potted up Black Widow's and the two false starters to the right. The plants on the right is what they all looked like I'm kinda ashamed to be honest but i'm so skint atm i can't do anything about it. Roll on Friday and payday .

The last pic is the really weird growth on the Black Widow, the ICE x Grapefruit doesn't have this problem just doesn't have alot of roots.
I'm just gonna ignore it and hope it fixes itself!

Also found out my bulb in there is 11w not 22w. Darn it! But that shall be remedied soon too.

e2a: The last pic shows you how much these bad boys stretched outta the pots! But it can be remedied by burying them when potting up so it's no biggy.

And last but not least a group shot.

Day 21

Watered with 1ml/l alg-a-mic today, they only drank a teeny bit didn't really need watered but i did it anyway 'cause it's been 5 days.

First up the 4 x ICE x Grapefruit.
Fairly uniform and dandy so far.

And for the Black Widow.
Maybe two pheno's or am i jumping the gun? One has quite wide leafs while the other quite narrow!

e2a: So sorry for my banter being shite this update, y'see i haven't smoked weed in a while and my mate gave me some homegrown white rhino and it's kinda melted the bit in my brain that creates banter. Melted. Melted alot of other bits too, but yes! Plants look good, nothing to complain about!

The Mutant one and the non-starter will both be culled, as these 6 will be taken into flower when they're ready under a 400w HPS in my new drobe. Oh yes!

Your little girls are looking better now... I will have to watch out for that stretch. I might place the seedlings in cubes first and then put them into compost, this allows me to dig them in a little, in case they do what they did to you.

There are 2 distinct pheno's from what i saw a nice 60/40 sat indi one which i think was the bolloks ad a very thin leaved sat pheno which in veg is slightly taller than the other but once in flower produce massive branches very very stretchy and would take much longer to finish.

This is the very sativa pone i was talking about and is a nightmare to controll.

And another as you can see she has very thin branches.

Last one a picture of a budsite forming on this pheno, you really do need space and more space for her to stretch out with this one and also time lots and lots of it as she will take ages to flower out.

As i posted before i know a few that have taken this to 12+ weeks and they say she has very low yield but the smell and taste and high was pritty dam awesome but i'll leave em to you to decide.

That's one best to avoid then!
I'll stick with my more indica pheno but give them alot more veg to properly find out which is which.

Day 27

Some rather bad pics of them today. Had to do it quickly earlier.

First up the ice x grapefruit and then the black widow.

Ice x grapefruits seem fairly uniform, i take it this is an F1? 2 have slightly larger than leafs and 2 have slightly thinner, , but apart from that nowt. The Black Widow seems to have a fairly obvious fat and thin leaf split, do you guys agree?
I'm guessing the fat leaf one is the more indica pheno DJay? The one i should be holding onto?

Sorry for the lack of updates, i've been getting stuff sorted for the new drobe these will be going into.
My current plan is to take these 6 or possibly 4 of them (if the more sat b.w. pheno turns out to be 100% sat pheno) in a scrog under a 400w hps in the new drobe.
Will be my first scrog, and i'm just waiting for the drobe to be up and running for them to get properly vegged under.
They all look healthy and fine it's just the light is pish! Be perfect for clones, mums etc. but not really for growing anything substantial.
The 400w hps however will grow them quite well me thinks .
So yeah, time on that up and running is about 2/3 weeks from now, these are all rooted but not heavily so i'd be leaving them a while anyway.

I would go for the more indica one myself due to the stretch etc on the more sativa type pheno and the time she will take to end flowering, as for the Gf x ice i honestly don't know man hopefully i can try and find out a little more about them next week bit behind the times myself at the mo sorry.

I'll keep the indica pheno probably but i'll keep the sat one growing at the moment, no real reason not to.

I actually spilt it yesterday mate, along with the grow and bloom all over my fucking kitchen.
Now smells like a mollasses hell hole, , my missus is going nuts!

Right, pics of the new drobe i bought FOR A FIVER that these babies are going into!

Made of solid wood, is built like a brick shithouse to be honest and already light proof apart from a slight bit of light round the door!
It measures 123cm W x 46cm D x 180cm H.
With cf and light in there i reckon i'll have about 110cm floor to canopy which means a scrog is in order!
Fans are here we're just waiting on the light and i'll have this bad boy up and running!

Djay Did you find out the indica/sativa and f1 or whatever about these seeds dude? Are they gonna stretch like fuckers?
This test grow lark is very exciting, wandering into the unknown!

In there new home.
Pictures of the drobe and then the 6" extractor minus cf at this moment, and the 5inch intake. Air movement inside is incredible but it's loud as hell so i'll need to test some diy soundproofing!
Right missus is moaning so some quick pics!
Plants are 4 ice grapefruit on left and middle, 2 black widow on right with the indica pheno closest and the other further away.

it will be the viberation from the wardrobe mate i had the same problem back when i grew in a drobe mate

MunCh!3'$ Nah mate it's just the fan moves an incredible amount of air, it's the whoosing is all i can hear as the fan is held in place by bungee cords that absorb the vibrations.

Temps were 25c last night and 27c this morning so not bad considering only one re-circ fan in there and in the end i want three.
I intend to run it 10pm to 10am due to noise issues.

Still to go in the drobe is the reflective sheeting and for everything to be properly connected.
The plants are loving it though, dancing around in the wind like crazy.

It's looking good in there mate.....

Day 35

Temps are a little on the high side with it touching 30c but there's little i can do about it at the moment.
Plants were potted up today, 2 ice x grapefruit that showed best response to topping and the indica black widow pheno, watered in with 2ml/l alg-a-mic.
Seem happy enough!

Black widow is top right, 2 ICE x grapefruit are bottom and left and the others still in wee pots can be seen just off shot.
Still no reflective shiz, bank skinned me for £140 in bank charges over four days and i'm reeling from it, .
But yah, plants seem fine .
Another week and i'll put them in final pots and the net above them and we're awaaaaay!

Feel for you with those bank charges man there pure robbing gets bank's.

30c aint ideal but it's hard to control with the weather at the moment one day its hot next day it's not, stroll on winter.

Djay aye tell me about it mate! The fans are now fitted alot better to their holes and the temps are now reduced to 27c which i'm happy with. Leaf curl has stopped with the lowering of the heat.
's all looking good! I'll grab some pictures when i water the bad ladies!
