A neighbour of ours saves all of her newspapers (daily mail and the independant) for us which we use for lighting our fires in the winter.

Few months ago i noticed an ad on the front page of one them for free plants from Thompson and Morgan so i cut the coupon out and sent it off.

had a good look through the stockpile of old papers we already had and found loads more and kept an eye on all the later ones she gave me, must have sent off about 15 coupons in all and have to say I've been amazed at what's turned up in the post in a steady trickle ever since

So far we have received:

Lavender plants x 6
Clematis x 4
Honeysuckle x 6
Hibiscus x 1 (dinner plate variety)
Begonia x 10
Climbing Fuchsia x 6

and about 400 assorted bulbs inc gladioli, anemones, tulips, daffodil, iris and loads more i forget
also received 20 packs of veg seed and today the posty brought one blackberry bush, 10 strawberry plants and 3 sumer fruiting raspberry canes

not a bad haul for the price of a few stamps

Am sure I found some similar coupons, but they were from ugorg, so am gonna start posting them now and see what happens

thompson and morgan and jparkers send out catalogues early in the year that have a generic fault ..they allow you to order 80 free bulbs with no p&p ..for the last 3 years ive recieved ..spraxus ,anenomes and tulips all gratis ..well worth keeping an eye out for these mistakes as the companies alwasy honour them ...they are mentioned on the money saving expert site at the start of a growing season every year ..just a heads up ..they look great in a border or rockery

Like you Joolz I get newspapers from the neighbours....(I get the Mirror and the Mail though ) but for me its for my plot and I just shred 'em without reading really... and although I did notice the free gardening products it just never clicked they might be free apart from P+P .Normally there's a catch somewhere!!

I'll give it a go next time I get some papers.

vince I don't really see many other websites nowadays... ...but he does come up when I open my email box <<<<not very often>>>> so I'll keep an eye out for those as well.


I love cheap gardening.

Today I swapped a bag of freshly picked produce....spuds,beans,courgettes,toms,cucumbers and rhubarb for a printer that works!

I haven't had a working printer for years .

Clematis and Honeysuckle are both my fav climbers..............
