BROWN BAGS ARE YOUR FRIEND!!!!
DJ Short himself recommends it and I have to say, with the exception of hanging plants whole and leaving sugarleaf on, it's the single biggest improvement to the quality of my smoke.
Carry on as you are, hanging the plant in total darkness. However, as the stems start to get brittle and the outside of the buds get crispy (and the inside is still damp) transfer your buds to brown bags (about 2-3" deep in each bag, folding the top over).
Brown bagging will allow some moisture to escape slowly (SLOWLY being the key word) by creating a microclimate in the bag with better humidity - but better than jars because they breathe a little and absorb the moisture.
Then, after 2-3 days in brown bags your buds will have shrunk a little and look more like buds. Then transfer to jars and burp.
It made a HUGE difference to my smoke. I did one Blue Cheese plant with brown bags, and one without. THe difference is marked. The brown bag cheese is so much danker, sweeter, stinkier, tastier, better.
BROWN BAGS ARE YOUR FRIEND!!!! Pass it on
