Hi everyone
Came across this place yesterday when googling for help with my 'babies'. I was given a couple of tiny clones from a friend a couple of months ago, only 2" tall at the time. He has a grow room with lights and so on. I dont have the space or the money for a set up like that so I purchased a mini plastic greenhouse type thing from argos. Well, silly me didn't read the book he lent me, or google this stuff until recently, and I was under the impression that they grew and flowered when they were ready. Well they are now over 5' tall whistling.gif

I now know about the light/dark thing, but I'm struggling to achieve it. I have been covering the greenhouse each evening with the fabric from a gazebo then uncovering again next morning so that they are getting about 13-14 hours covered each night, but I don't think thats enough 34.gif We have sheds which I could make totally dark, my problem though is moving them from greenhouse to shed and back each day, the neighbours would almost certainly see me doing this, and with 5' plants I can't do it lol.gif.

So any tips for me to achieve the required dark periods without moving the plants? They apear to have stopped growing upwards in the last 2 weeks since I've been covering them but I can't see any obvious flowering, maybe it is dark enough? I really want these babies to flower asap, I've been without smoke for months whistling.gif

I've been reading about the auto's on this site, I think I'm going to get myself some of those to try... they sound much easier!

Also, how much do you think 2x 5' plants will smell once flowering.. will the greenhouse contain most of it? I have several herbs inside, mint, lavender and so on, to try and create other smells, but I fear once they flower, nothing will disguise it lol.gif.

No idea what strain these are, I seem to remember friend who gave me them saying something like skywalker?? But I could be wrong,, I can take pics, in fact I will take pics soon and see if I can work out how to add them here.

Many thanks
Nat

autos are easy to grow may be running low on time though as for smell shouldnt be too much of an issue until ur within a foot or so

as for light you want to leave them uncovered to force flower ul need 12/12 i.e cover at 7pm uncover 7am and so on

Hello and welcome,
sound like you got a couple of monsters on your hands

any idea / can you ask your mate what they were ?
if it's a good strain stick with them and get some cuttings off and rooted yes.gif that might solve your height issues too wink.gif
you say 5 ft plants in a mini greenhouse . how mini is it?
Any chance of some pictures if they don't reveal too much of your garden?
you can gently bend them down using 'lst' ( low stress training ) if they're bendy enough.
when they hit flowering they may stretch loads ,depends on the strain.
or supercrop them.by gently squashing the stem between finger and thumb till it gives and bends over 90degs (don't worry it'll heal)
As long as it's light proof, if you can cover it for 12 hours ,it'll do just fine.
and you only have to do it for a week or so to trigger flowering.

Btw, you say you haven't got he money or space for a grow room , but how about a wardrobe ? yes.gif

theres some fookin excellent 'drobes on here notworthy.gif

and here!
Hope that helps.

Right, have taken some photos.. a few macro shots of their rudey bits, and one bigger pic to show the size of these beasts.

I really don't want them inside as I have kids.. Its outside all the way, also the smell!!!

The greenhouse is just over 5' tall. I am 5' exactly and its a coupl of inches taller than me, the plants are just touching the top unsure.gif You will see in one of the photos I'm about to post... Also.. I've just noticed when doing the macro shots that the umm, the bits on the stems where you sex the plants, have tiny hairs coming out, does that mean they ARE now starting to flower?

Thanks for that, might give it a go tomorrow though there isn't much space in there.

Can anybody tell from the pics if these are starting to flower or not?

Thank you, Nat

I don't see flowering. You should see pistils emerge when they flower. You won't be able to miss it really mate. smile.gif

You will actually see the first pistils when they show PREflowers. Which can be up to three months before flowering proper begins.
