I'm probably asking a very obvious question here, as I'm a newbie to veg gardening, really. Certainly never come across this before.
We have three tom plants in a growback, against a brick wall. We do it every year, always works a treat. But this year one branch on one plant has gone quite weird. The leaves are all curled over and limp, and growth is stunted. In two or three weeks this has stayed local to the same branch, it has not spread at all. We're further north than a lot of you, hence no fruits yet - our flowers are just starting to come now.

mr layne,
is the rest of the plant doing okay??
Often when we put tom plants outside , the original growing point dies off , and a replacement one 'takes over' , as long as this is totally confined to one branch , and the rest of the plant is ok, and there is a lear growing point , then there's nothing to worry about .
My other half always says that the original growing point is 'soft' cos its been used to indoors , the newer growing points are acclimatised to outside.

hope that clears it up.
The main thing i've found thats a problem with toms in the north is that theres often too much water .

enjoy your harvest sir.

Looks like physical damage to me.
I get it quite a lot on out-door plants.......the wind bashes them about.
I just remove the infected material back to the stem.

Hi Arnie,
Have you uncurled the leaves? I had some moth larvae once that curled the leaves a bit like that, they live inside.
Just a thought
