ok seems to be working, but i can only get 2 pics on 1 post. the first pic above is blue cheese at 4 weeks old, taken as they were growing on my windowsill just before being moved away and potted up. the next picture is at a much later date and was taken about a week ago. i think they are now about 10 or 11 weeks old. i'll double check that later

here's the final 2 pics, they are the same 9 plants, just different pics. i think the yellowing of the bottom leaves is just hunger so i've increased the strength of their feed now. hopefully that's all it is.

Remove the dead leaves and give them a feed...
nice plot...

Why are they still in pots as well?
janet16
Jul 9 2009, 03:17 PM
will do.
the plot is on someone's private land (we have permission) they are still in pots because he doesn't want us to dig up his land and plant them in the ground- he feels safer knowing that he can move them if need be. the other week he had some builders working on his house and had to move them.
hopefully going to repot again soon into some clean deisel drums that have been cut in half. i think this would be a good size pot for them
Mr Frisian
Jul 9 2009, 03:26 PM
U wont be able to move them either in a drum cut in half will be to heavy and u will disturb the roots if you tried to roll it about! good lucking plants tho bud

They are looking nice!

mate do you have holes in the buckets ? it really needs them if you dont
another thing there a bit yellow mate so give um a splash of nitrogen , id recommend seaweed concentrate or perhaps bird shit pellets
attach some flowers to hide what they if theres people around
janet16
Jul 9 2009, 04:16 PM
thanks for all the input guys. yeah just thinking, i wouldn't be able to move them in deisel drums would i! i got a bit carried away with trying to think what i could put them in that would be big enough - not thinking about weight. i'll go a bit smaller than that then.
yes these are the ones i am concerned about with the mites. if you click on the pic of just the top of the plant (the last pic) to enlarge it and then look really closely you can see 1 or 2 of the holes. Look toward the left of the screen at the plant that's been cut off in the photo. i couldn't see them on my phone but once on the computer i can deffinately see them. i couldn't get hold of that sb plant invigorator but i've got some other all purpose bug killer and its for fruit and veg so must be ok for what i want.
i thought it was just lack of nitrogen. bird shit pellets

that made me laugh. deffinately going to look into it though. there are holes in the buckets and drainage seems to be pretty adequate, although in all honesty i don't know how many holes are in the buckets as my mate took the plants to repot into these at 4 weeks old and he drilled the holes in the buckets.
and lastly a little question, how close to flowering can i repot? by my calculations i have about 4 to 5 weeks before they start to flower so how long should i leave it before potting up?

feeding schedule is pretty much non-existent! not to say we haven't been feeding them because we have but it's been all over the place. we have been using phostrogen - i can't remember exactly what it called but it in an orange box we used about half a scoop to 5 litres of water to start with - started feeding when they were about 8 weeks i think, and then when we repotted i think we lowered the concentration a bit as we figured the new compost would have some nutrients. another thing, we never kept track of the volume of water/ feed whe have given so we know the concentration but not the amount. and they are all in different pots. they are fed every 2 weeks. we were going to change the feed to biobizz bloom next time we feed which will be 2 weeks from yesterday.
we repotted some of them 2 weeks ago (couldn't do em all due to lack of pots) but there was such a difference in size in just 2 weeks i've not seen plants grow so much after being repotted it was amazing.
we repotted some more yesterday ut unfortunately still got 3 in the smaller pots.
this is probably pushing it, but could anyone give an educated guess as to the yeild we are likely to get all being well, or is it not possible to do so at this stage?

I'm only guessing but I'd wager 350-500gms, depending on the weather/sunshine. Dry weight that is. Always slightly alarming but they lose 2/3rd of the weight in curing.
Happy growing, I really like those barrels

hi the ferret, when you say what breed is that meaning what strain? they are all blue cheese fems from barneys farm. we have 9 of them.
i would be well chuffed with 350 - 500g sticky bud, that would be awesome. my mate would be even more chuffed as he smokes alot more than me. i'm more of a weekend smoker. however, we are getting so fed up with the dealer weed thats about at the moment. most of it is sprayed and trying to find cheese is like finding a needle in a haystack so can't wait until these buggers start to bud!
thanks to u all for the words of encouragement, much appreciated.

i think ideally i would leave them about 2 or 3 weeks longer but i don't trust the british weather. can't complain about this week but it's starting to get chilly at night now. 1 plant has started to get purle leaves which i think must be due to the cold. interesting how it's only 1 plant when all have been treated the same and only 1 out of 9 has started purpling. is it something to do with genetics? i'll probably give them 1 more week and then see about chopping. i found a little something not quite right on just one bud today. i think was a bit of budrot but not sure. i cut it right out anyway just to be safe.

Hang in there J16, wont be long now, just waiting for mine to finish myself and having to make do with skanky dealer weed atm.... Roll on harvest time!!!!
Damn weather men keep changing there minds about when we will get the first frost round here as I'm looking to wait as long as possible for max phatness. Apparently frost is usually preceded with a cold clear day and creeps up on a clear night so with all the cloud around atm I'm shooting for an end of Oct. harvest..
Good luck!!

Looking good janet, Keep an eye out for the rot now u found a piece as it spreads pretty fast. And remember to dry it properly, you just spent months growing it so make sure you dont disappoint yourself by smoking it wet. It makes all the difference.

thank you. not sure when the first frosts are going to start, i really wouldn't want to leave them out longer than the end of october.
i'm deffinately going to dry these properly dopey and i'm not going to be so impatient this time. we cut off a few branches to take home and dry out just for a little smoke and to see how ready they are. it is drying in my wardrobe. we haven't taken alot, literally like 2 branches and even with my wardrobe door shut it smells so strong. you can't smell it on the landing cos my doors closed but when you open it you smell it unmistakably in the room. if you open the wardrobe door it's well strong but it smells different. smell quite skunky up close.
here it is with large fan leaves trimmed off.
janet16
Oct 14 2009, 04:57 PM
just about to trim up a bit further now and make these a bit neater. we took the lower down less developed buds as we didn't want to take the best ones. we want to leave these to develop further in the next week and get them as best they can be
still learning
Oct 14 2009, 06:32 PM
Looking good Janet - I took some of the lower buds off one of mine a couple of weeks ago and they smoked really good and strong - hope it is the same for you.
Not long now hope the weather lasts for us
Good luck

Looking good Janet
Can't wait for mine to finish, they should be a few weeks now. I have moved them from my garden and they are under a HID.
How tall have yours ended up. Mine are 5 feet and really bushy.
janet16
Oct 15 2009, 04:46 PM
hey mutha, our tallest plant must be just over 6 ft as it is taller than my friend and he's almost (if not) 6 ft. this plant requires ALOT of water to sustain you wouldn't believe. it drooped so bad one time but the next day after a proper soaking perked back up good as new. About 6 of our plants are probably between 5 and 6 feet, and then there's the almost dead one that we tried to rescue. it has survived and grown, it has about 3 branches left on the whole plant

it's probably about 3 ft tall.
also, they are fairly bushy. we topped 2 of them so we could make a comparison. they were topped pretty early in veg. now they have 2 main colas instead of one but i'm not sure it's goin to make much of a diference yield wise if any.
i'll get some final pics tuesday just before we harvest
