Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could give an explanation of landrace genetics???

probs a stupid question but not one i could confidentily answer. And what would be the benefit of growing a land race seed??
I tried some of mandala seeds white satin, (a land race) which was first rate and was sorry to see them cease trading.

Is it that the seeds are taken from a natural enviroment cultivated in the wild???

Thanks for any insight

"Landrace seeds are seeds that have been grown locally in an area for…well…a long time. They are seeds that have been grown in a isolated area for several hundred generations. The longer the plant spends in that area the more acclimated it becomes to that environment. As plants breed they evolve to grow better in their environment, gaining and losing attributes giving it its own uniqueness."

I hadn't realised that Mandala had ceased trading - loved their Satori (easy to grow and a good high). Their web site still seems to be working though.

They've not ceased trading... just the webshop is not running until next year..
