Went to water some plants earlier today,theres an old pool where I grow,overgrown,no public access so no one fishes there,as I walked along the bank I saw dozens of fish around the margins just basking

what are they out of interest

Carp mate,dozens of them and I wasnt even looking,they were swimming really slowly or just basking motionless but all close in to the edges for some reason?

Woulda been quite a magical lil moment? Did you sit on the bank and burn one?

I walked down a track behind a young fox cub,was barked at by a Muntjac deer,even saw a few woodpeckers this morning,didnt sit though,just watered some plants and left

I wish my grow area was as pretty as that. Saying that I would probably get caught smoking a fat one next to my grow enoying the wildlife!

Theres normally a few grass snakes basking around the edges of that lake,seen them swimming in it a few times,I have to visit another spot tonight which involves donning waders and wading down a river tributary,last time I was threatened by a pair of swans guarding cygnets

they would have been spawning / getting ready to spawn.( if they aint done already)

they go fookin nuts if your lucky to catch em going at it full tits, quite a sight to watch em going mental...

I was also down at my local water at 6am this morning for a walk just & i seen a good few carp, nowhere near that amount tho, that is a defo moment to shmoke a fatty

toss a few floating bread crusts and watch them suckle of the surface ..great big mouths

I will take them some dog biscuits tommorrow Rip,throw them in and see if they take them.Healthy,theres loads in there but I think its because its never been fished,theres a 12 foot fence around the site,tresspassers will be prostituted sort of thing.

They just sun bathing mate, nothing a carp loves more than a good day in the sun . And the best time of year to catch em imho, a tub of floaters, some barbless hooks and a tube of super glue and your away ..............

there's folks that would give there soul to the to fish that spot ....I'm not a carp man, but fishing that with a floated bait and just the line ........watching and waiting for the fireworks that will surely come ... would be fishing nirvana in my book thats for sure

Ah badpenny man thats some awesome pics man. i was down a local water the otherday watching some awesome looking carp seen one of the biggest in the lake too. going to have a dabble later in the week see if i can tempt her.

You should take some tackle and have a go mate, carp are wise old things and can be very hard to catch but if it doesn't get fished then might be nice n easy (i'd b fishing it all the time!!). Imagine if u pulled a 30+lb'er out!!

When they're basking near the top try stalking one, flick a little floater near it, eitherbread or dog buscuit on a hook and if he slurps it BINGO.


E2A - I just realised this is your plot so you don't really wanna be hanging around. Looks like a fucking top fishing spot tho.

Never fished there Mr Mak,no one else can either,bloody high fence around the place and no trespassing signs everywhere,I was there last night,groups of carp swirling on the surface and I found a parrots nest,yup,a parrots nest,loads of them around but I saw one fly out of a very clean woodpecker hole in a tree,one of their favourite nesting places Hope you get one Ganjaman

When did a sign ever stop anyone, it didn't stop you... You're a lucky guy to have a place like that i hope it stays the secret garden.

The parrots sound like a sight, are they close enough for photos? I didn't know we had parrots in the uk untill a few years ago where on the t.v they were showing them in trees in the parks of London! Crazy shit.

There should be one on tow if there arent too many reeds etc next visit

Nah heyboy,I ate carp before mate,they really dont taste nice at all Two different types of parrot round here Mr Mak,I see them every single day My sisters cat caught one in her garden once,you can get right up to them,I have a few pics I took,I will see if I can find them later
