Hello Folks,
Thought I'd post some pics of the Double Gum I'm growing.Spent a fair bit of time building my room but got there in the end!
Farmweb reckons Double Gum is like being hit round the head with a big warm pillow!..I'm looking forward to that!
Here is a pic from the outside.
Got that wrong...I was gonna save that one til later!
Here we go again....

Hello folks,
The pic of inside the grow was taken at 4weeks 3days.I'm a bit worried about crowding. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to trim the lower leaves at this early stage?
The phenos seem to be really consistent so far....Really strong indica and all about the same height but for a shorty in the middle.
They are on 18/6 at the mo and I don't know how many may be female.
They are growing on three 205 trays set across a 120ltr tank.with about 70 ltrs of Canna nutes in.
I thought that if one pump goes I won't loose everything...Paranoid I guess.
Here is a closer pic taken the same time
All the best.
Buddha.
Thanks for all the nice comments chaps...Well fast replies!!
Can't wait for the snow to hit them Farmweb.I got a small filter that vents into my bedroom via a 4" RVK pulling and a 6" RVK pushing.I thought if I vent to my room I can keep an eye on aromas. It absolutely stinks and my Missus ain't too happy...I didn't realise how pungent the smell was....Beautiful but pungent.I have to mod the filter big time but can't touch it yet.
Regards to you all,
Buddha

AFAIK veg time is the only time you can trim her....the chap in in my hydro advised me to do it, which tbh i havent, but im in flowering...and unsure if i should!
keepin it X'd for yer!
BB
Hi BB,
Cheers 4 the reply...Most expensive shed I ever did build too!
I will probly have a go at trimming the bottom leaves to give everything a bit more space.Took a look tonight and the taller ones are approaching a foot high so I may stick them on 12/12 very soon as I've got a 600 watt lamp and not too much head room.(Don't want to burn'em up!)
I was trying to wait until the nodes started alternating...But that doesn't look like it is going to happen yet.
Could anyone tell me how long Double Gum might take to mature from seed?
All the best,
Bu.
Love the Avatar mate!!!
Hello Folks
Thought I'd do another post. This is week 5 from germination and things are going ok.I've taken some of the shade leaves away to give some of the smaller plants a chance.Hope this was the right thing to do.
Getting through nearly 2 gallons of water a day!
H
Will be taking cuttings in the next day or two then I'm gonna put them on 12/12 otherwise I will run out of headroom.
Trying out the Canna Aqua and the plants seem to be responding well.
Here are a couple of pics.
All the best,
Bu.
Here is a closer one.
Is it ok to have roots growing across the bottom of the nute tank?
Cheers,
Bu.

Hello Folks,
Thought I'd do an update.
Found some female pre-flowers as confirmed by fellow growers.
Here is a quick pic of one.
With some more following.
Cheers,

Hi Folks,
Everything looking very bushy indeed.Took some cuttings today but here is a pic before I lumbered in!

Much Tribulation,
I haven't been checking the nozzles on my pump system...I have three 205 trays running across a 120 ltr tank with three individual pumps.
I have noticed that the plants on one tray are growing into the tank and on closer inspection saw that the pump wasn't working!!!!
How they managed to survive beats me.The tray was totally dry and I feel a total arsehole!!
All repaired but here is a pic...Don't know why,it just feels better to share it.
Here are the cuttings I took today in the nursery/early veg/mum room...Fingers crossed they all take...Took some flouros out to ease the stress.
All the best,
Bu.

Hey Buddah;
So much for the nightmare of mechanical failure when using NFT huh?
Just goes to show how durable your plants are. Fact is that plants have evolved to do everything they can to survive, no matter what we throw at them, and this just emphasises the fact. No harm done I hope.
Grow is looking mighty fine Buddah. Good luck with the rest of it!
Peace.
RD
Cheers Mindhunter and RD,
So far the cuttings are holding up....And it is truly amazing how much abuse the plants do take....The tray was literally bone dry!!They must have got a start then the roots must have gone into overdrive to find the res and the roots were crowding round the airstone for oxygen.
I now check everyday...I was lucky!

Bu.

Top marks Buddha for some quality work there.
Being three and a half weeks into my first grow, albeit non-hydro, I can feel where your coming from. I'm a lot less knowledgable though,

but I try and find the answers to my questions by reading through old posts on here.
( I run a certain 'official' website and I know there is nothing residents hate more than repeating themselves constantly with the same answers to the same questions, albeit from different noobs. Although saying that, everyone on here is stoned so probably dont mid as much but you get my drift. )
I wish you all the best my friend and the description by Farmweb as being hit by a warm pillow makes the strain sound like a must 'try'.
But I have to keep my watchful eye and concentration my WW's for the time being.
All the best with it dude, will be reading with great interest.

Stoned-Again
Hi All,
Thanks for the comments Stonedagain.Best of luck with the WW!
I got some White Russian to try next. Can't imagine it being so smelly as this lot tho!
Right...For an update...I have been 12/12 for coming up on 2 weeks and things are coming along nicely.I had to pull out 4 males and I have also pulled the relevent clones in the nursery. This leaves 7 girls.
I pulled one coz it was showing what looked like a male and on closer scrutiny outside the room there were some females hidden away....GUTTED!
All I can hope is it was a hermie and I did the right thing.
It is amazing how elegant they start to become as they flower.
Here is the one and only pic I got that wasn't blurred!(Must have been excitement!)
I'll post again when some decent buds start to show.
Thanks for all the help chaps,it is really good to know there are people to help if things go tits up!
Bu.
Hello again,
Got a closer pic.
I've got 3x205 trays side by side and for my next gro I'm only going to have 2 plants per tray as there is a bit of a battle going on.
Here is a closer pic of the heads coming on at 2 weeks into 12/12.
Things coming along now.Put some Cannazym in today to help break roots down.
CF keeps rising on me so could this be roots de-com[posing on the pulled plants?
Here are some pics taken just before HPS kicked in.
Reckon I can see some crystals coming or am I getting over excited?
No 3.
I have started putting my hand or some wrapped up tissue paper over the flash so as to dampen down the glare...Pretty pleased with these pics.
Not quite OT1 tho eh!
No 4 and last 'til buds really start moving.

Hi Buddha.
Nice pics mate. All looking really healthy. Will give covering the flash a try tomorrow.
Hello again,Cheers BM,
Today is 3 weeks flowering.
Took a pic to celebrate.
This is the prettiest with the most flowers but also the smallest.
Got 3 clones of this one surviving so dead chuffed although some of the clones have died on me.
Cheers,

Hey Buddha, covering the flash worked a treat, really comes out clear. Added the latest one from my diary below. Hope you don't mind me posting a pic on your thread

if you do, let me know and I'll take it out. Looks like we're at very similar stages of the grow, mine has just started to get juicy

Think I'm around week 5, but had to leave them in the dark for 3 days while I was away at Xmas, and I think it stopped them for a while, picking up nicely again now though. Hoping for a harvest mid Feb.
It's always lovely to wake them up and see that the trichs have started, then before you know it, it's a white christmas

no m8 its probly not gonna be as hrd as drying then curing them for 2 or 3 weeks after cuttin them
Hi MDP,
Looking forward to the snow coming down..I thought I saw some on a pic I took but it was wishful thinking.
Already got my jars on order from Wares of knutsford. They look beautiful in the pics.3 ltr things.
Trouble is when it is your first gro it is hard to know how much curing space will be needed.
Don't seem to be able to get rid of the smell of pickled onions from my big jars at home!

Hi MDP, picked up 3 of these jats from Ikea in the week, I think they were 2.50 each. The top has a rubber seal on it. Very reasonable. There were bigger ones there too, but these were the nicest looking ones
Hi MDP & BM,
Those jars look a treat, and cheap.
Here is the website for wares...www.waresofknutsford.co.uk
Hope that worked.
It costs £40 for 6 3ltr things but the P&P seems reasonable for such heavy things. All the best,

"THE GOOD BUD AND THE UGLY"
Time for an update,
Had serious problems at the weekend...Posted some pics and got some very swift answers...............Thank you.
All my plants were showing yellow leaves and one was showing bad droop.
It was diagnosed As nute burn and possible root rot.
As recommended by OMH,I got some Guardian Angel and did a 24 hr flush with water and Guardian Angel and gave the wilting lady some foliar feed (50% nutes)
I still have wilt on the one plant but the uppermost leaves around the buds are holding up.Fingers crossed it may still recover.
I have, however noticed that there are tiny feathery roots growing back on the root bed.Great news!
What an emotional roller coaster ride growing is!
One minute you feel great and the next you feel your world is caving in!
I will post some pics when things don't look quite so ugly.
All but the sickly one have had the frost coming down, which is encouraging.
Poor old girl has no decent root system to power the trichs up!
I feel such a bastard!
All the best,
Bu

Fingers crossed though.

i knew things would get back on track m8
im sure the recovery will be quick and complete, then you can sit back relax and watch the trichs form on yer buddage!!
