Hello all,

this is my first time posting a grow diary although i have done a few outdoor grows over the years.

this is going to be a greenhouse grow of a range of strains from shortstuff seedbank. I have russian rocket fuel, himalaya blue, ONYX. Mi5, and snowryder; some regular and some feminised so we will see how we get on!

I am going to do a very basic grow as i don't have a lot of time and i am not a big smoker so i am not too worried about yields

I am just going to use normal potting compost, water, the sun and maybe a little tomato feed when the plants start to flower

I already have a shortstuff himalaya blue (like blueberry kush) growing which is around 4 weeks old and showing she is a healthy female (will get a pic of that up soon) and i put the rest of the seeds in to germ 48 hours ago.

most have already popped out a root, 100% of the russian rocket fuel already which is a great sign:

I will try and get all these seedlings into pots within the next 48 hours and come back with a new update as soon as i can

thanks for watching

thanks guys. yep, i will be laying down plenty of slug pellets, they can ruin an outdoor grow pretty quickly

I'll be pulling up a patio chair for this one or have you got a couple of trees where I can hang a hammock? wink.gif

Hope you don't mind me adding my 2p but I'd suggest investing in some better food would be well worth and from what I've heard you should give you nicer buds; BioBizz works very well for me and it seems to have better results on my other garden plants than my garden centre organic food too.

Good luck with the new seeds, looking forward to seeing them growing up biggrin.gif

hi net2-3

thanks for watching. no trees close by i am afraid but the chair should be comfortable enough

thanks for the advice, i am sure it is sound and i don't have much of a clue really but i am just interested to see how things go with a total 'no frills grow'.

it will probably mean much lower yields but like i said i am not a big smoker and i am going to make as little effort as possible with this and see what happens...

hope to have some more pics in a day or 2

sounds rather nice autogrower! loving the strains never heard of them before but love the autos! well get some pics up pronto so we can all have a look see how these babies are geting on dude. goodluck

so i have got some pics of the shortstuff himalaya blue which must be around 5 weeks old now. it is surrounded by taller tomato plants so has had to compete for light and has ended up rather leggy. Perhaps it will fill out a bit, it has quite a few budsites and it still has 3 or 4 weeks left so we will see...Click to view attachment

below are some of the seedlings which i guess are now around 3 days old. they got a bit mixed up before we planted them so hopefully we have them labelled right. The shortstuff himalaya blue (like blueberry kush) is meant to stay under 2 feet but the onyx and Mi5 are supposed to go up to a possible 3 feet so the difference should be obvious!

I am very exited about the 2 afore-mentioned strains. If they can grow to 3 feet hopefully the yields will be 50% better than the other lowryder strains!

anyways, not a lot happening here but will report back in a few days

right, after a 3 week absence i have a bit of an update. The shortstuff himalaya blue (which is basically auto blueberry kush) is about 8 weeks old now and is around 2 feet high and has quite a few buds on. It has had to compete for light and is in a smallish pot so the yields are not going to be great but its just for fun really.

there are some close up pics of the top bud here

here is a picture of the a blue himalaya which was planted at the same time but got attacked early on and never got over 8 inches tall! bonsai kush!

As for the other seeds planted a little later on we have had a few problems. We had a slug attack which did for a few of them, got some males so kille them, them repotting resulted in labels being lost and having no idea which each plant is. The 8 fems that remain are around 3.5 weeks old and are looking pretty healthy and range from 6-12 inches. Unfortunatley we are not going to know which plant is which strain but the onyx and mi5 are meant to be a lot taller so perhaps they will be obvious.

anyway, thats all for now

cheers

p.s anyone think the big himalaya blue is ready to be cropped?, quite a few brown hairs there...

No dude they've still got a while to go by the looks of wink.gif

All looking good. Sorry to hear about the problems.. Did you lay slug pellets down? I scatter them all around the ground of my greenhouse and in the pots also. Have also seen that copper works well, maybe some copper wrapped around the pots would help?

so checked the plants today and the big himalaya blue has some bud mould due to the damp conditions and lack of circulation in the greenhouse. She was almost ready anyway so she got the chop

i am quite happy with the plant, it has finished at around 18 inches high and has pretty solid buds all over it

The plant is now being dried hanging in a cardboard box but i am not sure what to do with te mouldy bit - should it be chopped out and binned or can some of it be rescued? is there a chance it can spread to the other bds when it is drying?

Any advice will be gratefully recieved.

Here is the runt short stuff blue himalaya which now looks quite nice after its difficult start albeit in very small way

This has a couple more weeks to go and will probably only yield an 1/8 or so i imagine

We now have 5 other various short stuff females which ae around 5 weeks old and seem to be doing pretty well. We will put one of these in a really big pot soon to see what sort of difference that makes. here a few of them, the first one is already 15 inches tall so might be the ONYX or Mi5 - wish we had not lost the labels!!

Looking good.. sorry to hear about the budrot.. I have been thinking about this the last few days as I can foresee me having problems myself, am going to try and find a way to stop it before it starts... Hope you get some nice smoke off the ones drying biggrin.gif

You need to remove the mouldy bits from your buds in the drying box else it can spread to your good buds.

You dont want to be smoking anything mouldy if there is lots you may be able to make hash from it (though I never done this myself and don't know how, sorry) but if it is only a small bit you are better off binning it. imo

all in all i was very pleased with these strains, some grew very tall - probably the onyx ad mi5 - around 80cm and had very good yields considering the conditions.

we got about 30 grams of the bigger plants and 20 off the smaller ones so we have plenty to last us for now

the buds were covered in crystals and the stink in the greenhouse was awesome

the smoke is very potent - definitely a 8-9 out of 10

Never mind my grow though, some of these seeds were passed to a mutual friend elsewhere in the world and his were results with the mi5 were simply amazing for an auto strain

he got 2 oz per plant outdoors with an auto - 2 oz!! can you beleive that?, why bother with anything else.

he said they took a little longer outdoors - maybe 12 weeks but the added bonus was at the end of their lives they turned a wonderful purple colour

anyway, here are some of his pics which are now being used by the seedbank as they were so impressed with them

i will definitely be back here next year with some more of these great auto strains
