Hello everyone,

Can I pick some of your brains regarding my future greenhouse grow. I have and 8Ft by 6Ft greenhouse and it is situated
with a south facing aspect. The door is always locked and nobody can innocently wander into it i.e. stray children or lost pets.
I have power for heating early in the year and I have an extractor fan to control humidity as I seem to read this as a problem on
the threads here. It would only contain 2 or 3 plants max and no other plants to hide what I'm up to in there. Mrs Shade is ok
with this kind of grow and neighbours can't see me coming or going to the greenhouse. My only questions I'd love an answer to is :-

(1) The best direct sunlight I can get is 7Hrs 30mins per day 10.30am till 6pm (23d June Edinburgh), it is still nice and light outwith these
hours but not direct. Is this enough sun for a successful grow ?

secondly

(2) Could I cover my greenhouse in bubble-wrap or paint-on shading ? I couldn't have the potential for anyone viewing directly what I'm growing.

Can someone please put my mind at rest with these questions I have.

i think if you covered your green house in something it would then make people look ph34r.gif 916

not sure but the guy just up from me has that green netting that you get on scaffolding all around the inside of his greenhouse

you know the stuff that you can hardly see through, dunno if it would block out a lot of light though

I'd agree with Garageflower some green netting would be ideal, i think you can get stuff especially for shielding greenhouses and polytunnels so it shouldn't arose suspicion. You may need it anyway as you greenhouse gets so much direct light and it will help keep your temps down. As it's green it mainly absorbs in that area of the spectrum and that is not light your plants need.

Can you hook up a carbon filter to your extractor fan, otherwise come autumn it is going to be blowing a pleasent but rather incriminating weedy stink all over the place with the size of plants you could get in there.

Hope this helps, are you planning on growing this year as it's quite late in get started now (but still do-able)?

Thanks for your answers green netting sounds good. I plan on next year (2010) growing but taking my time to get things just right for then. A carbon filter is something I will get also.

be4 you run off and buy a filter just follow my thread in a few weeks I will be putting together 2 home made odour neutralizing buckets just to see if it will work. I would recommend some shelter shade netting to hang over the door when its open and a fan just inside that to draw air in.
