Hi guys, i am looking to "guerilla" grow and have a few noob questions if you don't mind..

First off, I understand the plants have a better chance of growing if i start them off indoors, can you recommend any lights that are specifically for getting seedlings going? electricity cost is an issue as i don't pay the bill and ideally i don't want to leave the lights on all the time. I will probably put them on the windowsill or patio during the day and then top up for a few hours at night.

When is the best time to plant outdoor strains? I live in the south-east of the u.k? does it vary for different strains?

I have identified a couple of ideal plots in surrounding woods that have plenty of nettles and other plants growing, the plots are secluded, there is no water source nearby but i can take water to the plots no problem, Even still, can you recommend any strains that are ideal for noobs and don't require too much attention once planted other than pest control and watering..?

How long should i keep these plants indoors before transferring?

I hope these questions are not too vague and appreciate any advice biggrin.gif ph34r.gif spliff.gif

Yes Leeroy.. If your gonna put your babies under lights indoors you can go to your local b&q or hombase to find some 100w energy savers, Dont be using halogen lights on your babies as it will more or less fry them... Which i learnt from my mistakes wink.gif
You will need to get a move on as it is prime time right about now stoned.gif you got say 6 weeks without thinking of veg time left and then they will switch to flowering...

NETTLES is GOOOD .... light source south facing ... tbh mate people say grow this and that but grow what you want as long as it is a indica dominant strain and not staiva it shouldnt flower into november and there will be less chace of bud rot come october.. So in my opinion if you like cheese grow some cheese if you like lemz grow lemz, Grow what ever you want as long as you get it past the seedlings stage and protect themm from slugs your in for a treat!!!!! But like i said GET a move ON 13.gif 13.gif

NYC Hope i helped stoned.gif

Got some loryders from seedsman for little patio/skylight grow, both are my first ever grows, will keep you updated, may ask for some advice now and then too if you dont mind

forgot to ask NYC, How long after planting the seeds is it best to wait before transferring to the great outdoors? and did you treat the soil at your plots at all? How often did you have to visit? From your diary it looks like you only went back a few times???

Cheers mang! ph34r.gif

Was looking at these, Amnesia Lemon (5 Seeds Fem) from Barneys through seedsman, says they flower end of september, will that leave enough time for me to get these cracked, kept indoors for a couple of weeks then planted in the woods.

Bro i dint go scouts!!! Jus put it in a spot where the sun is shining all day.. the sun goes down in the south so jus keep your eye out..

In my opinion i would rather spend £40 to £60 on fem beans cause you dont have the hassle of digging holes for males moving males into plots feeding males etc... If i was you bro go for the GHS lemon £25 for 5 fem beans. personally i could smoke lemz all day evry day its so distinqtive thas why is my favourite.. The amnesia hase if i remember rightly its more of a sativa than indica.. means it will finish later and be more prone to bud rot..

if i was you get a setup with say 3 or 4 100w energy savers 400w in total but the beans under 24/7 light and put out in a wek or 2 the growth indoor gives em a fukin good start ... a few plots had been prepared earlia in the year but the main ones at the moment have just been dug added with a bit of fish blood and bone and some epsom salts... mixed with the soil and some pure bottled water.. the weathers been just fine so no need to water them i wouldnt think. im jus gonna leave mine sayin that we have to lemz which will be a month on thursday from our last visit..

They are close to a river bank tho. so they just got attacked with bug spray and ima hope for the best .. Keep us updated got a few flowering lo ryders at the moment... smell fresh too wink.gif

barneys farm is the seedbank we got our "TOP DAWGS" from -- really bad germ rate but im so happy we have this strain magnificent plant and smells fuckking amazing spliff.gif spliff.gif

Cheers Magoo, NYC, really really helpful!

Read your grow diary Magoo.............OMG!!

Gonna invest in some Lemon from Greenhouse, gonna try and get to b&Q tomorrow and sort out some lights, i suppose 400 atts for 24 hours a day for a week or two isnt gona cane the electric too much, will i need to sort out an airing system too tho? Baring in mind its only for a couple of weeks at most im hoping not as i am useless with electrics and fans and things..lol.gif

thanks again guys really appreciate the help, will keep you updated spliff.gif

Hey Magoo, NYC, Ive just purchased the following, should be here by the end of the week!

lights for first two weeks from seed, to be hung in stroage cupboard with slight natural breeze

125W CFL System With 125W Blue Lamp

and seed wise ive ordered

Green House Indica Mix H Feminised cotaining:

GREAT WHITE SHARK- LEMON SKUNK - WHITE RHINO - TRAIN WRECK - CHEESE 1 of each seed + 1 free

If they all germ ok im gonna split them 2 at one plot , 3 at the other

Do you think that light will be enough for the first couple of weeks of vegging

Also, do you have any tips on how i can be sure my chosen plots are not places people go to, e.g how could i tell if someone has been there if that makes sense, am i just looking for the obvious flattened foliage etc?

thanks ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif

Well basically fella theres only about a month left vegging, you wanna sort a location out sharpish dig 2ft deep holes and space plants 3ft apart,
get your protection ready i.e wire, slug pellets, copper tape, sprays etc and a nice amount of compost something like westlands multipurpose
compost with added john innes. You want to germ asap, veg under light for two weeks plant outside so they get 2 weeks of vegging outside.

Alot of time and work to put in mate. wink1.gif

Cheers mate, appreciate the help, ive got the compost sorted, got some protcection (slug pellets and chicken wire for the surround) just got to get some copper tape...(where exacty does the copper tape go? Round the chicken wire?)

2 ft deep! that seems quite deep! and then fill with compost and plants i take it?

Ive got the right locations i think, just waiting for the vegging light and seeds to arrive, will get them cracking as son as they do!!

How often should i be expecting to go to the plots to water them?

Thanks again mate spliff.gif spliff.gif

The copper tape normally goes round the stem, i personly rip off four strips about 3 inches long then put em around the stem that way.

Yeah just dig your holes fill with compost add plants then top up with more compost.

As for watering I would say every 3-7 days depending on type of ground and sun light received. (Im pretty really sorted for my water as
my plot is just slightly above a lttle river).

The 125 blue lamp is basically perfect to start them of.. Good choice there.. And the mixed GHS seeds is a good pack to go for that way you have 5 differant strains to try.. stoned.gif Germ the beans as soon as you get them. do not waste any time as it is pretty late.. But sayin that i fink i read somewhere yesterday that maggoo didnt put his mosters out untill next month.. Someone correct me if im wrong wink.gif

Just look for abandoned areas. you can never be 100% sure that no1 will go there its never that easy. Just get a nice spot and do your thing 13.gif

Just do this...

In the morning at about 7am when the sun is rising, stand so the the sun is on your left. Now east is to your left, so south is straight forward and west is on your right hand.

Or...

Google earth your spot and look at the compass on the screen.

Hope this helps. stoned.gif

Gonna go down to the plot today with a compass, Gonna try and dig the soil a bit , see what im playing with, might have to have a hack at the slight canopy above to let a little more sun through, its well off the path though, a good 30-40 foot through the undergrowth, there is no way anyone should find themselves stumbling across my plot unless i give it away at all.

Will try and get some pics up later. ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif

Im aiming on planting three plants at this plot, the area ive got is about 4ft x 4ft, will that be enough space? ill just dig a hole, 4ft square with a depth of a foot and a half.. hmmm almost grave size! hope i dont get caught digging lol.gif

Point the hour hand of an analogue watch at the sun and bisect the curve between that point and the 12'o'clock position, this is your north/south line. Hint: In the morning the sun is in the East and in the evening it's in the West. The sun is never in the North.

Hi guys, thanks all for the help so far..

Right today i received my seeds from GHS:

W/Rhino
T/Wreck
Cheese
White Shark
Lemon skunk

They are germinating as we speak, Only got one of each so cutting it fine, but funds are low and so is space.

I also got my 125w flour light with reflector (blue lamp) I just have to decide where to put it!! see pics below..

Im looking to keep the flowers at home for 2 weeks (until weekend of july 11) They will be outside on my patio or windowsill in direct sunlight from the minute the sun comes up until it goes down (about 8-9 pm) then i want to put them under the vegging light for the rest of the night..(that is 24 hours of light , is this too much?)
after 2 weeks of this im gonna plant them in my guerilla plots, assuming 4 survive , 2 in each plot.

I have a few questions..

1) how tall will the plants above generally grow in 2 weeks off vegging under lights and in the sunlight?

2) does it really matter if they are not in a totally light tight area (see pics) when they are under the vegging light? Im gonna have the light quite close to the plants anyway?

3) the door will not be totally shut on the cupbiard im gonna use as the extension lead cable has to come through the door of the cupboard, This will provide some ventilation, i was thinking of putting an oscillating desktop fan in there to keep the air circulating, will this do?

These are the pics, First a couple of the lowryder diesels im growing on my windowsill, they are 5 days since planting, gonna chuck em under the lights at night too should help em grow a bit, do they look alright?

second pis are of my vegging area

any answers to my q's or advice is greatly appreciated, ive really gotta get cracking

cheers chaps.. spliff.gif spliff.gif spliff.gif

update... got my light set up, what do ya think, attached by hooks to the beams and using speker wire.. got the two lowryders in there at the mo, how far should the light be from the plants leaves? Hi mush , just waiting for the seeds to germinate ,hopefully they will have cracked by tom morning and then I can pot them..gonna pot them into 4" pots containing Westland multi compost / jon innes, got the loweyders to go under the light for the first time tonight, how far should the light be from the leaves? They are only 5 days old...

Also is it best to just leave the seeds I'm gonna pot tomorrow under the vegging light for as long as possible? These andthe l/riders will be out in the sun from sunrse to sunset (14 hours roughly) and at night I'm just gonna put them under the lights, therefore they will be getting 24 hrs of light a day from seed until I plant em down the woods, is this too much light?????

Also gonnaget a desktop fan tom to put in with the light , reckon this will do the job alright??

Sorry for the question onslaught , cheers mush

Hi guys, little update and question too..

These are the lowryder x diesels, coming along nicely, just gonna grow these on my patio during the day and under 125w flour at night, they are 6 days since the seed was planted, do they look about right??

Also i have just planted 5 more seeds that im gonna growon the patio and under the light for 2 weeks and then plant outside, all 5 seeds germinated no problem and are now in 4" pots waiting to pop thru the compost, is it worth putting these under the lights too? also as im only gonna keep em at home for 2 weeks is it worth feeding them any sort of root solution to give them a better chance?

Cheers

hi mate,u'd be suprised at how close you can get that light to the tops of the plants without burning them, they can be about an inch close with enviro's i find.it will really speed there growth up .

they look really healthy though! good look mate.

edit-if you do drop the light down i'd have a fan blowing on them, wink.gif

Easiest way to find south is to visit your plot at midday. The Sun will be in the south.

Only in the Southern Hemisphere is the sun in the north at midday. Watching Auzzie grow vids can be confusing!

A South facing plot simply means the plant gets acces to sunlight from the south no trees or banks blocking light from that direction.

Its also good to have light coming in from the east (moring sun) and west (evening sun) the more hours of daylight your plants get the better.
