Now, plot 2, the Rhino and cheese, both looking very healthy and have filled out nicely in the last few days, however i still dont see any signs of buds! Should i be too concerned?

The rhino is about 3.2 feet, the cheese is much taller at just under 5 foot! loads of possible budsites but no buds as of yet, looks like they may be about to appear?

These sideways pics are F*cking me off!

I've 2 AK48 and 2 Big Blue outdoors in pots, put them outside about the same time as yours, they're doing pretty well and I can tell they're female without maginification now, but only just. Not actually at 12hrs natural darkness until around the 26th in south England. Nothing in the pics to indicate the sex that I can see!

Looking forward to seeing how this goes, looking good so far smile.gif

So, you think they may be male too, that is bleak to say the least, any idea how long till ill be able to tell? I did look for balls but couldnt see any? cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

Hi peeps, Just a quick Q,

IF these do all turn out male, Do i have any rights in regards to refunds for the seeds, as they were sold as "Feminized"?

TBH im more pissed about the time ive spent and the money on other materials, fencinc, compost, nutrients etc and the fact ill have to wait almost a whole year to have another go!

Im still totally confused, surely Feminized seeds = female plants? unsure.gif unsure.gif

Cheers for the help lads.. spliff.gif spliff.gif

Youve brought Arjens hacks so dont be suprised...

get some better pics up mate and bend the plant to get a side good shot of the nodes. Use the Macro setting on your camera (read instructions).

Will be popping down there during the day on wednesday, so ill report back with some close up snaps, Fingers crossed!!

Thanks AA spliff.gif

If only one of the two turn out male, will it be too late to kill it before it pollinates the other? If they are both male, they have no use right?

Cheers Punk, I have everything crossed that at least one of them is female, From everything i've learnt/read so far (not much admittedly)i thought they looked more female than male, But then i am a noob still so i wont be discounting anyones opinions until i get more conclusive photos..

Thanks again fella and everyone else who has helped me so far!!

So....

I think for once my luck is in (I may well be wrong tho!)

First up, the two that i have written off in terms of producing any bud, The lemon and the trainwreck, its been well over a week since i last visited and i must say for once i was pleasantly suprised by thier growth, There are no signs of flowering or pre-flowering on these two but they have certainly bushed out a bit, prob about 3- 3.5 ft id say..

Lemon on the left TWreck on the right..
leeroy lee
Now for the moment of truth...

Plot 2 - the Rhino and cheese, these two have grown a massive amount recently, the cheese is now up to my nose! so prob about 5.5 foot, the rhino is still much shorter but has bushed out loads, When i rub the stem, the smell is lovely! Talking of stems, they are both really thick now!

Anyway Here they are in all their glory
leeroy lee
Now for the interesting bit, Not sure if this pic is th rhino or cheese ? either way it looks good
leeroy lee
Def Rhino macro
leeroy lee
3 more rhino macros...
leeroy lee
Now for the cheese, which has white hairs sprouting from almost evry node?

No sign of any balls as far as i could see...!

So what do ya reckon lads?

Weather has been perfect for it too, Also I have only fed them nutes once about a month ago, Westlands nutes they were , not sure of the specs, Is it too late for me to feed them any more nutes? Would it make any difference at this late stage?

Peace spliff.gif spliff.gif

Thanks Punk,

I do wonder why the rhino is so short still tho, not that it really matters - anything is a bonus this year.

If only I hadn't of planted them so close aswell, ive had to bend them both away from each other slighly.

Thanks again

12 days on since last visit..

All looking good so far i think, the weather has been stunning the last week or so, meant to be sunny still till at least wednesday maybe thursday this week, then it will rain!

Still a bit worried that they just wont have enough nice weather left to see them thru?

They have both stopped growing in height i think, the Cheese is exactly 6 foot and the rhino prob about 3-3.5ft max but much bushier than the cheese..The cheese has loads of little bud spots emerging, but the top bud seems to have really bent over for some reason? (Check pics)

The rhino is much shorter and appears to have 3 main bud sites, with a few underneath the really thick fan leaves!

leeroy lee
Cheese sideways pic , im using a mac and preview to resize the photos and it is not saved like this..

bent top bud on cheese?

Any advice/comments appreciated! Will they make it before the weather totally draws in?

Here is the cheese, looking really purple? spliff.gif
Pickels
hey leeroy great looking plants & love the pic of the cheesey purple head sweet colour to it , ya can almost smell the bud on it !!
Here's to hoping ya get to smoke that fine ladie.

If its any help mine been flower about 6 weeks and I think another week or possibly two weeks to harvest.
That cheese been in flower for 2 -3 weeks? so may be another 3 to 4 weeks at a guess.
chaosmonger
damn they look in fine nick compared to my torn-leafed,bug -raped specimens.those plants will not be done to finish though, let alone in a few weeks imo. they would have to be out till middle of november.i have some big bang outdoors and they are only 2 wks into bud, much like yours.i couldn't pull them for another 5 wks at least, and remember cheese takes longer.10wks indoors.just be prepared to take em down not fully ripened, cos it won't happen before they rot
good luck

Thanks Chaos, I really have found a decent plot with this one, seem to get plenty of sun and have almost no insect problems! The nettles there where up to 8-9ft tall so i suppose thats a good indicator?

A couple of newb questions, IF i left them out till finish , Would they actually finish? How early is just too early to chop and what can i expect to yield off these two plants as an estimate if i were to chop last days of OCtober??

peace mate spliff.gif

Just been looking at the forecast for the next 14 days, weather drops to about 4 deg at its lowest at night for a couple of days, looks like a mixture of rain, sun and cloudy days though!

Hoping to leave em out for at least another 5 weeks which will be first week of nov.. meaning about 7 weeks of flowering

The packet says :

indoor flowering 8-9 weeks

outdoor flowering ready mid october unsure.gif

Gonna let them live as long as possible, what sort of temps should i be looking for before i think about chopping?

also is it worth feeding them anything now? Ive only fed them with fish blood and bone and westlands slow release plant feed, not sure of the exact specs for the nutes..

newbow

Blood and bone should be fine. Maybe you could try seedweed fertilizer ? I found it good.. Anyway what your using should be enough nutes ..
Temp wise I`d be mainly worried about frost? Not knowing the area/forecasts/etc.. excl.gif
I think your on to all worries, cheers
