hey guys, hope u all ok, i was so excited monday i went to go see my plants with my friend, which have been living in a greenhouse and now they are 6 weeks old and have grown alot sinse i last saw them about 3 weeks ago. we gave them a weak mix of water and nutrients for the first time and thought they might be better off outside now as it is getting nice warm weather, and they getting big. so we placed them in an area of the garden which was in the sunlight, propped up the stems by tying with string to some sticks, and said goodbye.
that night we had the most atrocious weather we've had in ages. i was cringing as the rain bucketed down, it was really heavy and caused floods in some places. the wind got up quite a bit aswell. now i'm really worried about what state the poor plants are in. they are probably drowned in water. we are not able to visit again for about another week and i'm worried that they will be dead after monday night#s weather.
has anyone got any previous experience of really bad weather and plants? am i being paranoid? do you think they'll be ok?
cheers guys, janet x

As long as they are not submerged in water i would imagine they will be alright.

thanx growxpert. they are not submerged at all (although probably rather water logged roots). i can't believe it they were gowing so well. wot a stupid mistake for us to make putting them outside! oh well, it done now. fingers crossed. i'll be going to check on them as soon as i can get up there.

thanx everyone. i realise just how paranoid i am. but i am not very experienced and just want to get it right this year. i've done previous grows but in different kind of conditions. the last one i did i only ended up with 3 female plants to care for and they were in a mates garden that only lives 15 mins away from me so i was up there at least 3 times a week. unfortunately we messed up during the drying stages somewhere along the line and bud went mouldy. this time the plants are alot further from me so i'm not seeing them often.

Raz hit the nail on the head,in the plants natural environment they have extremes of weather, drought, monsoon, hail or whatever, they still survive, its one of the hardiest plants on the face of the planet,as long as its got its root ball and some vegetation left its game on

Check out Magoo's diary. His recently got ripped to shreads by hail... In June!! If they survive it's proof they're hard bitches.

They should be fine at six weeks old! I lost a young seedling to heavy rain but another one survived and is my biggest plant. At six weeks old I wouldnt be too woried about heavy rain, long periods of flooding will be bad for it, but as long as it dries up they will probably benefit from it.

they are good healthy plants. they have about 6 sets of leaves now (if i remember correctly) some are slightly bent over but i've propped them up with sticks. smelling good. they are blue cheese by the way. i'll make sure i let all you helpful guys know if they were ok when i eventually get to go see them.

hi this is just a little update as promised. well i haven't seen the plants myself sinse last monday night when the storm hit, but my mate went to see them today and he said they are fine - apart from some dead leaves
not quite sure what he meant by that, i don't think he is either as he is really not an expert! i don't claim to be that knowledgeable but i know alot more than he does. however he doesn't seem worried so i'm not worried. i have a feeling that the "dead leaves" are more to do with the feeding side of things rather than anything else. but anyway it seems they did survive that weather. once again guys, many thanks.
