was using gr60 last year and shimano technium the year before and have just respooled with korda adrena line. Got to say it is thinner and extremely soft and supple but after a 3 day session was shocked by the deterioration in the line, the whole length that had been cast out was very rough to touch and visible nicks all over. Whats other peoples preference when it comes to line? Also changed marker rod line this year to a suffix braid as its rounder but again not happy, boys at leslies said its a sinking braid, like bugger is it, so thats gotta be stripped soon, any marker braid suggestions that is round and not flat profile and SINKS!!

alright mate!
i fished with that adrenaline last yr, and it aint all that imo?! very prone to fray/nik/kink etc etc etc quickly! nice casting line though!!

i'm using ultima green fluoro coated line in 12 and 14lb bs, recommended by the guys @ sheltons. very abrasion resistant and hard wearing. good for me because i fish over alot of bars and tight to snags @ my local! and compared to some other lines it's pretty cheap too!!
what's that technium line like dude? not used any shimano lines, nor have i fished braided mainlines yet, so i'll be keen what ppl have to say??!
good luck

thats what i found, lovely casting and feel but too much deterioration after ten casts with the adrena, i tried the camo technium after duo core by suffix i think, it didnt feel to bad to be honest, i prefered it to the gr60 but i dont know many who tried the technium, but i was put off by the camo, kinda psychological for me. I may have to try the non camo technium on my 3rd spool or the ultima. Again kinda psychological but im not keen on most 15lb line diameters so think 12lb will be my step down. havent used braided mainline other than markers and spods but am thinking off changing leaders and using nash bullet. cheers dionisys

i bought a 2nd hand big pit with sensor on it a few years ago, used it for one trip, wasnt bad to be fair, but didnt know how long it had been on for so it got stripped and loaded it with the technium (shimano line with a shimano spool-tackle tart kinda logic i suppose!). i mate said i should use sensor, damn decisions decisions, but its the marker braid im more concerned with.

Like wise Ive been using Daiwa Sensor Clear for years, cracking line not once have I had a problem with it.......I re-spool my reels 2/3 times a season and it cost me next to nothing as its only 7quid a spool.Imagine the price of re-spooling 3 Big Pits 3 times a season with 15+quid line

personally i go with fox gravitron braid for all my fishing
better indication ,zero stretch ,better round snags than nylon could ever be use it in 30lbs bs ..........

yep hazydays70
nylon dosent come close to this stuff .....people think its expensive but when it lasts 5 years it aint all that bad ..when it gets to five years old just turn it round so the bottom becomes the top
at 2 pounds per year you just cant beat it

cheers fellas for the tips, off to see whats in stock at my local tomorrow, hopefully they will have the fox gravitron in, tho i think the tackle shop and fox are at loggerheads but had a look for it online just incase. Decided to get a spool of sensor anyway, for that kinda money its worth putting on one spool to compare against the adrena im using. decided to opt for the 12lb sensor as i think its not far off the same diameter as the 15lb adrena if my ganja fueled head remembers correctly. Cant spool up my mainlines with braid as some waters can be fussy that i fish, so til i get spare spools it will have to wait other than the marker braid.

I don't do carp or any other brown fishing, but I have gone over to braid for all my sea fishing, apart from beachcasting multipliers....
Boat multipliers, f/s spinning, small estuary multipliers, all loaded with braid now....
Doesn't work well for long casting beach multipliers, beds into itself a bit and you don't want a birdie in braid at them prices.....
Even durable in saltwater applications, forever changing mono on boat reels, but braid gives you at least 2 seasons of heavy use, and on me spinning f/s reels have had same braid on for 4 years, still fine...lovely for spinning....

valid point re wildlife, with my strike rate of hooking birds last year its probably wise for me to leave it ( 2 coots, a moor hen, a duck and a swan-all released safely, whether tangled/caught in lines or just bait pilfering and trap disturbing) that was more birds than 20s single toning my alarms!!

thing been bud with the braid you will retrieve and untangle birdlife..... not sure about that with nylon though

i remember a couple of years ago nearly killing a duck where a braid had got once wrapped around its neck and it wouldnt release, eventually got it in and released it.

Hello mate....
I had the same problem and used to get round it by changing my line every year and stripping LOADS off every session. In the end it got preclusively expensive so I gave a bit of thought as to what I wanted from my line and, most importantly, my terminal tackle. To that end, on all 3 of my carp reels I have 50lb sea fishing braid! It's bright yellow & green, quite trippy really, but it was DEAD cheap from ebay. On the end of that I have about a metre of leadcore leader with a swivvel on the end. To this I can attach either an in-line pair or a korda saftey thingy, a feeder or whatever I want. The braid never gets line memory and, so far, I haven't noticed any deterioration...I'm guessing that if there were any it'd be in either the leader or the hook link (the latter I change at least every time i go fishing, sometimes twice in a session!). The fish don't seem to mind that my main line is a bit 'cheezy quaver', maybe 'cos it's a fair way away from the business end
Hope this helps

BUGGER!!!! I forgot to say that my leadcore leader is threaded through some 7mm shrink-to-fit anti-tangle tubing that I managed to find on't'ebay

Alright mate i have used soft steel and sensor and both are hard as as nails, the fox stuff is a golden colour and quite a low diamiter, the daiwe sensor in dark brown is a little thicker and good around snags and sinks well.
