You can just spray them with slightly soapy water every day.

Jun 13 2009, 08:08 PM
yep soapy water, or a garlic and onion crush water solution is ok, also bug clear i think is fantastic, if u go for a 'systemic' then u can almost gaurnetee that they wont be back as well...
Personally after looking at your pics i think u will be ok m8, just let em continue and look forward to the rewards, afterall u still in veg state so plenty of recovery time left in them yet

Those sun flowers could be attracting a lot of little nasties. I always end up spraying my sunflowers once a week otherwise they end up being overwhelmed.

Very nice recovery, but judging by that fence, and guessing it's a boundry between properties, you gonna have a whole load of worryin' to do yet!!

Try and find a spot outdoors in farmland next time...

if i took a photo of next doors garden, you would know that they never set foot in it

the whole garden is basically a stingy nettle field (4-5ft high) the only one who goes in there is their dog.. and they never clean the shit up... also, next door never even open their curtains...
its an ideal spot..

re-potting today into 11 litre B&Q buckets.. gotta drill those fuckers out first... bet the neighbours wondered what the fik i was doing with 10 buckets

and a big 120 litre bag of B&Q multi purp.. gotta tie the buggers down as well .. for the third time... every bit of growth is as thick as a pencil.. so im hoping for some nice fat buds .. going to bring these inside at the first signs of budrot ( last year was sept 23rd ) and give them some heat and air flow at night..
i might have to select 5 of the best cos these are going to be monsters by time flowering kicks in...
fuck its now thundering.....
il upload a few pics when ive repotted

Update... bare with me, im smoking " Haze "

so heres a few pics took today.. the ones in B&Q buckets (4 fems) were the shortest and stoutest of the original 9 ( was it 9?? i cant remember

) i pruned them back about 3 foot and ties the side branches down , i had too , they were getting silly .. they are about 5 ft tied down, one is higher and not tied down much cos i dont want to chance snapping another stem.. lost a nice plant to over bending
the 4 fems out of 5 that were in the ground amoungst the sunflowers are anout 4 ft high.. i topped them about 3 weeks ago and now i got 3 or 4 main stems rather than 1!! result!! one is a dwarf about hone third the size of the others..
i also got 7 small fems at under a foot.. been out for about 2 weeksish??.. got a couple of small males and 2 males finishing under flouro`s cos i wanna pollinate a few branches again this year

Hi cocofibrelover,
Hope you don't mind me asking you a question?
Just wondered whether you cover your outdoor plants to ensure 12/12 cycle? I was just looking at your pics from last year and i have to say that look very good for an outdoor grow. I've got 2 thai plants outdoor, they have been going to 3 months and are only just starting to show signs for flowering.
Thanks

Aug 5 2009, 07:32 PM
no mate, i dont cover them.. i think they start flowering when the daylight comes down to about 16 hours, looking at them i would say this is the first week of flower or just prior to that, they seem to have had a spurt in upward growth over the last week or so and the first few pre bud hairs are visible..
i knew a guy who grew thai for years in the late 90`s not an ideal outdoor plant , cos its genetics are from south of the equator , if i remember right it grows like a single stem and you dont get much side growth but the bud looks like a toilet brush on a stick ,also i think its a long flowerer ?? im sure someone will know but i think it could be 10-12 weeks. smokes good, heavy flavour a bit like the " grass " from back in the day and a little bit hashy.. but i never smoked cured so i imagine cured could be some special nice quality smoke. this dude was in his 60`s and he still had 1960`s genetics seeds... this guy was also the first person i know who was growing NYC Diesel .. ever had that?? that shit has an awesome taste!! and he only skinned up once in a blue moon...

I read an article on some site like theregister ages ago about a paedo who was caught because he had used a distortion tool to hide his face in pictures, but the police were able to reverse the distortion. I know we're hardly the kind of people that SOCA or whoever will be looking for, but technology and knowledge trickles down organisations.....
I'd say if you want to censor bits of pictures block stuff out completely, or crop the picture to only show the plants. I don't really think it's necessary to try and hide what the floor looks like, but obviously it's up to you if you think it is distinctive.
Just a paranoid thought mate

The plants are looking good. I like the way you've got them hidden behind sunflowers - I didn't even see the weed the first time I looked, and I even wondered why you'd posted a picture of sunflowers!

Was looking up the recipe to knock some up and thought of this thread
QUOTE (mr. clean @ May 1 2007, 06:53 PM)

Protection OptionsInsectsYou're growing outdoors. You're not going to avoid insects. There are various methods for dealing with insect pests which are outlined in the
Pest Control section of the Grow FAQ, but generally, unless it becomes a specific and persistent problem, it's better to accept them as a fact of life. Many of the repellents, such as those based on Neem oil, are impractical for the guerrilla gardener as they are based on the premise of "regular application", with "regular" meaning "weekly, or even more frequently", thus running counter to the stealth philosophy.
As a general bug repellent,
Nitramkram offers this solution:
QUOTE (Nitramkram)
Three large cloves of crushed garlic
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
One teaspoon of liquid soap
One litre of water
Combine the garlic and vegetable oil and leave to soak overnight. Strain and add to the litre of water along with the liquid soap. Spray regularly. Garlic is known for its antifungal and antibacterial properties, but it is its insect repellent qualities that most gardeners like.
its quite appealing to me to "DIY"
i remember someone later saying they found two cloves more effective so i am going on the 3 small cloves route
