I've been with the GF many times.....it's a good city, even for non-tokers.

The museums are world class.....Van Gough, Modern Art, Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam Historical Museum, Jewish Museum.....and others. These are all worth a visit.
The Hortus Botanicus is fantastic.....especially if the weather is good.

Heineken museum is okay.....a bit of a commercial for the brand, but worth an hour or two.

Anne Frank house.....utterly humbling.

Loads of great places to eat........Los Pilones is always my favourite, The Five Flies is good too.....grab a great breakfast in the back of De Bakkerswinkel on Warmoestraat.

Good beer-a-plenty in the city.......try De Wildermann, De Bieaard and Cafe Gollum......there are loads more too.

And that's without really thinking too hard.......have a good trip.

Erm, the only things in Holland worth mentioning are the Weed, Beer and Whores!

Still gots that eloquent charm Rizzah, where's you been hiding breh?

Everyone's different, me an the Mrs enjoyed the zoo the icebar cannabis & sex museums, never got into the dungeon but always aimed to. Good luck with the exchange rate just puts me off paying £5 a beer £3 a coffee and the weed was even dearer than the UK when I was there.

Cannot do anything else but quote You.
Van Gough and rijks are really world class.
Tha parks also are ecxcellent.

Jush, one thing You should really go and see is the worldpressphoto exibition. It's on in the oldest dam'church, right beside the rld.

Also, if time is an issue, try and take some walking tours. Lots of interesting and curious things about the dutchs.

And, last but not least, clubbing. Lot's of good music, lovely girls etc etc etc.

If You are on a budjet, think
Lovely city for a we.

The boat rides are boring as hell.

The cannabis museum is a horrific rip off.

Erm, the only things in Holland worth mentioning are the Weed, Beer and Whores!

In that order!

hortus botanicus is definitely worth a visit, the whole plantage middenlaan area around it is lovely, unusually wide streets for that part of the city. vondelpark and around leidseplein/stadhouderskade area, the museums, jordaan, the new developments at knsm island. the markets, waterlooplein market is a bit tatty these days, but worth a browse. its always worthwhile to get a bit further afield than the redlight/touristy areas, i know people who have been to amsterdam many times and never got south of dam square, pity.
Bad Penny.
The sex museum and isnt there a huge merkin collection there somewhere? unsure.gif

Actually, the zoo is a nice place to go to get away from the insanity for a while, especially if it's nice weather....it'd down near Tolstraat I think, so GH TOlstraat is nearby for a smoke smile.gif
