Went in febuary.. i jus chuked a nice selection of grams in my jacket pocket nd chuked it in my suitcase... got thru fine but my m8s sent it back thru post its safer to go to the main post office cause the post men on road no what to look for.. you may not get your parcel

We start our road trip the first week of june. We'll take the ferry to france, visit some friends who live in belgium (I'm belgian as well, but I work and live in the UK) and then we're off to Amsterdam. I speak dutch, so the post office is no problem.
My car has been searched thoroughly a couple times, thats why i'm not so keen taking it with me. They never used dogs tho, just human search.

Also, what you say about postmen might be true, a friend send me some in an envelope and it never arrived.

There were one or two places with Laughing Budda on the menu though.

Brief trip report.
The tobacco ban is not being enforced with any rigidity.....if you keep your fag packets and stubs off the table then there isn't a problem tbh.
Some coffeeshops have built seperate areas in perspex to segregate tobacco, some have even split in to two premesis (or aquired nearby property)......this I feel was mainly to accomodate alcohol more than smokers.
Even though alcohol and canna are now seperated there are plenty of places to have a beer and a smoke......Nes Cafe for one, remains a great place.....I also love the Greenhouse Effect bar.

Alcohol is expensive.........expect to pay €5 a pint, even more for some of the specialist Belgian beers that I love.

The weed seems to have improved since the last time I was over........maybe I just got lucky?
Dampkring - Lavender (€8.50/g), Ummagumma hash (8.50/g).....good weed, great hash

Greenhouse Effect - Amnesia Haze (€14/g), Chocoloupe (€11/g), Super Silver (€10/g), N. Lights (€8/g), Super Maroc hash (€9/g).....all the weed here was nice, with the chocoloupe (may even buy seeds) and the Super Silver being best......the Super Maroc was lush, it made me drool

Kadinsky - not been in here for many years. New docor, very clean, light and airy shop.
Got a great 5g deal of Bubblegum here for €38.50.....real nice, rock hard nuggs with a lovely sweet taste.
Also got 1g of Maroc here for €3.50......it was a bit rough, but had a nice stone on it.

Dutch Flowers - have had problems with the arrogant budman/barman there before, but my mates wanted to go in.
The guy couldn't have been nicer ......^^maybe I just got lucky again?
Silver Pearl (€7.50/g)......top old skool tasting smoke, very good quality. Lebanon hash.....very fragrant, very nice.

Eating
Wok to Walk do a great box of noodles/rice with choice of meat for €7-€10....cooked fresh in front of you and very good quality. Lots of outlets through the city.
Los Pilones (Kerkstraat).....probably the best Mexican food I know of, we sank a fair few cocktails too....great Margueritas and Mojitos
Thai Bird (Zeedijk) - authentic Thai food, this place is always packed and we had to wait for a table. Their fried rice is superb.

Do the coffeeshops have chairs tables outside by the canals etc. ?

TBH Weedio, summer is the best time to go.
Lots of coffeeshops and bars with outside seating......plenty of places to take a drink and smoke up while watching the world go by.

Off the top of my head - coffeeshops with outside seating
Dutch Flowers, Ricks Coffeeshop, Amnesia, Greenhouse Centrum, Green Place, Bushdoctor.........loads of bars too.

Just to add to my previous post......forgot that I made a purchase at Green Place, 2g of very nice AK47 for €15. I returned with it to the Bekerde Suste (sp?) next door where we were having a few drink on the terrace outside....sorting through a few things and put my weed on the table.....quick as a flash some guy (bar owner I think)was on me - 'No smoking drugs on my terrace please'.....I thought it was ironic and nearly blurted out 'But you'll let us drink as many as we like??' lmao

Also; about 11pm on the Sunday, we were having a wander round the main canal part of the RLD when a naked guy with a mop of ginger hair passed us on a bike. I had to do a double take. My friends didn't believe me.......I pointed him out as he came round again for a second lap.....a few loud whistles from me and soon the crowd were cheering him round
