hi,
what is the mazar-i-sharif like outdoors says she likes colder weather but how cold? im guessing its probably a long flowerer aswel?
namkha
Jun 9 2009, 08:21 PM
it was ready by mid October in Spain - the pictures you see were from a guy who grew some out there
it gets very cold in Afghanistan in winter - Central Asian winters are brutal
some farmers like to leave them till the plant has totally turned - to get lots of the dark rich fully ripe trichs

Hi Namka,
Ive popped five Leb and 5 Mazar to germ in propagator at about 21c temp. Is that ok or do I need to be hotter than that?

Hi Namkha i`m awaiting delivery of my mazar seeds and would like to know something of how the local farmers sow them.
Are the seeds sown straight into the ground, or are they soaked and popped first.
I will try to recreate those conditions if i can, as i would imagine that growing these seeds in any other than condition, other than the conditions that they are used to will have a negative effect on their progress.
Also as i suspect, that the soil there is of poor quality, with low nutrient levels and probably very dry?? what type of soil should i be using to give the plants the best chance of success?
best wishes r1

have a look in the threads on the Mazar-i-Sharif (and Shiberghan)
treat them as you would any other seeds
the only person I know who used heat mats on the Lebanese fecked them up --- they were 100% when I tested them
just go easy on the nitrates and you will be fine
these plants have low nutes requirements, but they have way, way more vigour than typical "Western" lines
that said, the Mazar may start out a little slow, but as long as you don't do what Marijuana Matt did and feck them up, then they will out-perform normal "Western" stuff by miles --- Pantagruellion got 85g of dried bud off a Mazar-i-Sharif grown straight into 12/12... that's the one in the pic
just keep it simple and go easy on the nutes

I just received the 25 Mazar-i-Sharif I ordered a couple of days ago, plus 12 free, plus 12 x Malana Cream and 12 x Lebanese.
What a bargain, thank you very much for distributing these strains in this manner!

I may have never tried them otherwise.
First time I've bought your seeds, and will deffo be back for some more soon. Has anyone cross-bred your seeds to produce new strains, do you know?
As a matter of interest, does anyone know if there is a permanent seed bank for landrace cannabis strains, like the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway (which preserves plants seeds from all over the world). I guess they have hemp cannabis seeds, but less sure about drug cannabis.

Thanks Namkha
I received my seeds today, 37 mazar, 24 leb, and 12 malana cream.
They are great little packages that they come in, and i`v popped some leb in to soak, and root riot pots are in the prop warming up for the potting
I am growing in coco, and i will bare what you said about nute strength in mind when feeding.
I will probably use formulex to start, and use canna a+b as my main nute, but i`ll be keeping an eye on what the plants tell me they need

your right I should have worded it better ......
it was then and is now still a very very cosmopolitan country .......it is beautiful and the people have always been among the most friendly I have known .... its a shame just that so many outside influences have left there mark on the country
they should all mind there own back yards first ........

at the minute we are doing
12 Free Mazar-i-Sharif
12 Free Heirloom Cultivars (e.g. Lebanese, or Nepalese, or Malana...)
if you order a tropical line e.g. Highland Thai, Highland Lao, Kerala
you will also get 12 Free ex-stock Kerala...
...a different strain from the Kerala we have on sale, the freebie ex-stock Kerala is a faster mega-yielding commercial cropper used in Kerala by the "Ganja Mafia"... the Kerala we have on sale is more a connoisseur old school Kerala, still big yields, but longer-flowering and a better smoke

Hi
First I have to say I really appreciate RSC's work.I 'm very interested in landraces an even started a "collection" and tried to grow some(Zamal, china Yunnan,Pure afghan"DNA",).I discovered RSC at Seedsman.com and first bought gt Akka and MIS,but couldn't continue buy seeds last monthes.
Then I just found out few days ago you've got your own site (just the day credit card paiement system was removed!!!so could'nt order yet.) and I have some questions about strain description and name which are some times different on Seedsmans and RSC's site,to be sure I don't miss nothing :
So is the " Malana cream " the same as " Malana " seeds first sold at Seedsman?
As well "Highland Lao " description is not the same (Seedsman description don't mention a "mix"like RSC's description),so do I miss the first "Highland Lao" seeds now sold out at seedsman?
Anyway,I'll order right now "Golden lao" and "Highland thai" before they go !
Thank you
Cimaze.

Hi Groovelick
I guess RSC strains have never been grown outside their original environments,so harvest date is probably the only available info about strain flowering time .
I've a pack already ordered which must be here in a few days.I plan to pop a few seeds as soon I'll have them. But I will ewpect the flowering time to about 7 monthes (from seed),like did my Original
Haze (Thoug I still could let her go..).It's my personal opinion,I never grew pu Asian sativa before(Only Yunnan Indica"ACE),but I think I'm not far from the truth.
I probably will share picture of mines when they will grow.

prob. 14 - 18 weeks for Highland Lao and Golden Lao
you will really need to know your stuff to do them indoors
but for honesty and accuracy I just give the dates they are harvested in their native enviro
in Europe a greenhouse would be your best option, and the only way I would do it
top of a tropical highland/mountain is where they come from

Hey Namkha
Sorry if I was about to discourage Groovelick and others telling 7 monthes flowering time ;
I really thought I could compare it to my Original Haze,I specified from seeds .
So I should have specified I would expect the cut to finish in 150 day , also thath I' m flowering 12/12 period, maybe 10/14 would be better and could shorter flo. times
Glad to hear about 110-130 days , anyway I will plant some in a few days and we'll see ...
Thank You for quick reply/correction

Hi Nam, Im (kinda) new to this, i live in north of uk and have never grown outdoors before, 2 questions...do you have any seeds that can handle the not-so-tropical climate of scotland & is it too late in the year to start growing here now? I have bookmarked your page for future reference. hope you can help :?

I received my order today ( " Golden Lao X5 " and " Highland Thai X12" and had 12 Mazar I Sharif and 12 Lebanese fo freebies . Thank You very much,You must be the only seedbank to almost "double" orders.
I haven't be lucky enough , it seems I missed "Ganja Mafia Kerala " freebies I promise to share whith a friend ,though not a pure old school,it sound like interesting original strain to try.
So will those "Kerala seeds be available again in the future (as freebie or not) ,or are they gone for good ?
Anyway thank You for all the rare strains you make available.
I will post pictures of the Golden Lao seedlings as soon they sprout !

,just love doing buds/plant pictures since I got my cam ...
